After a couple of months of owning the DT880-600, I've really grown to like them. Currently using a Yulong A100 solid state amp to drive them, thinking of getting either a Schiit Valhalla or Lyr to experience them with a tube amp. Any recommendations between these 2 amps?

  Thank you Bob. I'll go to a few local hi-fi shops and try them with whichever amps they have for demo, hopefully the problem is just my amp. Though theoretically it should be more than enough to power a 600 ohm load.

I am interested in getting a pair of Beyerdynamic DT880 600 ohms, does anyone have experience of how they pair with this amp? Also, for the DT880 600 what would you recommend between the A100 and a Schiit Asgard?

I bought the SE215's last night. The sound is rich and bassy, and they're great with rock, metal and pop. However, I was disappointed with how they sounded on classical. It just felt like there was a veil to the sound, and the whole range sounded recessed and distant.

I'm also trying to decide between SE215's and UE 600's. My main concern is, what would be the main differences in sound moving from a dynamic driver (SE 215) to a single driver BA (600)?

Today is the most depressing day of my summer yet... my MS1i's right driver (almost) died. Running it out of a udac plugged into my laptop, the right driver is absolutely silent; at almost max volume, there might be a crackle or two. I then switched sources and played it off my blackberry, and...

I just tried these headphones, and found the sound to be very muddy and distorted. I couldn't even recognize the songs.

Has anyone heard these speakers?   I found them for $130 CAD on clearance at 2001 audio video, thinking about buying them.

I'm currently using a udac with Alessandro MS1i's and AD700's. I thought about upgrading to the Maverick D1, would it be worth it to keep my udac as a usb to coaxial converter, or just connect the D1 via usb?   I'm using a laptop and don't have any digital audio outputs.

zs3889, I bought a pair for gaming and they are just phenomenal. Not just for gaming, but movies as well. I'm thinking of selling them, as I don't do too much gaming anymore, so shoot me a pm if you want to discuss the AD700s.
