Wow, I am being driven insane...

Yeah, the line is as clean as possible. Just the channel 7+8 (for high res mode) to the headphones, no adapters or anything. But the thing is I don't see how it can be the source, as it happens on more than one... I will ahve to try it with a friends CD player or something...

Wow, I am being driven insane...

The AV-710 takes the burn ins, normally listen to my normal music a little louder on shuffle throughout the night, so it gets a full specrum of what I listen to.

Wow, I am being driven insane...

I don't know what it could be, it has been baffling me... I am gonna try to send back my a500s if I can't fix this soon... a shame because I really liked them, but the balance being off really makes me angry. To describe what it sounds like, I made this nifty little diagram. The | is where it...

I tried it with my Rio Karma, AV-710 and some AC97 onboard sound at school, with multiple songs/sounds, of course. BTW, that rubbng Alcohol idea didn't work...

Wow, I am being driven insane...

Every pair of headphones I get has a weaker left channel. It starts out the balanced, but after burning in the left ear seems to get weaker... I tried switching sides and all that, it isn't my ears, it is the phones. I have no idea what I do to them, as I take good care of them, make sure they...

lack of grado comfort seriously exaggerated?

I don'tm hvae any problems with my Alessandros, I was using the comfies for about 2 months until I could get the flats... I wore them religiously from about 3-10pm everyday, longer on weekends with only a minor discomfort in the last hour or so. The flats however, are a different story. While...

    energetic headphones?

Yeah, you gotta go Grado, I can only reccomend the Alessandro line and I say MS-1s are pretty fun... makes you want to tap your feet and bob your head. (To avoid confusion for anyone who doesn't know, Grado makes the Alessandro MS series.)

Closed/Sealed headphones - but which one?

For $110 the A500s sound good and are REALLY comforatable to Grado ears.

    Amp ¬200usd

Well, I had it all figured out, until about 2 weeks ago. I was going to splurge on a Headsave Classic, but sadly, as you all know... they shut down. Now, I am looking for a good Headphone amp to power MS-1s and A-500s. It doesn't need to be a portable one, but it wouldn't hurt much. I don't...

    Sennheiser vs Grado Presentation.

I didn't see anything special with the box, in fact, I think for a $100+ investment cardboard seems a little cheap. But, they weren't damaged and I say the cans themselves can take a beating, and they are solidly built. Also, I like the sound in comparison to Senns. For metal, Grado is the only...

    Cans for the Office?

Yeah, some do, and will tell you right now: In comparisons to a500s they are horrible in terms of comfort. But, they are a solid pair, they can take a beating, they sound great and are fairly portable. Also, they are open so you will hear your surrondings. My personal opinion is that if you...

E3's or ER-6 (plus EQ help for senn hd-497's)

While I can't comment on the canalphones (Never had a pair), I can say: For the EQ, just toy around with it until it is something you like. I personally like a small mid dip, with my Karma I have it set to +1, -3, -4, -2, +2. It sounds good to my ears on ath-a500s and MS-1s. But, the EQ depends...

    Cans for the Office?

I am going to reccomend MS-1s. They are solid (in build and preformance), sound great, they don't isolate as they are open, they aren't to big (in fact, in comparison to a500s they are damn small) and cost $100 shipped. http://www.alessandro-products.com Hope that helps.

    Post your HD280pro EQ settings

I would reccomend just playing around until you get something you like. I personally have not tried those cans, but I have to say this is the best way to go about any EQ setting, set it for your own ears as they are more than likely unique in someway from someone who has the same cans.

    How open is open?

I would go with open cans, because 1. They don't leak enough to wake someone up at moderate volumes and 2. if you hapen to sing along or anything you won't look as dumb, because they will also be able to hear some of the music.
