Decent headphones for small studio and portable
I also do recording (nothing professional, just a hobby) and I have the ATH-M50's. So far they sound great and represent what's also coming out of my monitors well. They are also wonderful for listening to music. I'm not experienced with headphones aside from the M50's, but that's my opinion.- SemperParatus

I've had mine for about a week and a half now (probably 30-40 hours of burn in) and I am in love. I was also surprised by the "lack of bass". When I say that, I don't mean there isn't any, I just mean it's less than I expected after reading the reviews. I pretty much found them to sound as the...- SemperParatus

Monster beats studio/ Sennheiser HD 380 pro/ Grados SR225i or Grados SR325is
If you like bass, have you looked Audio Technica ATH-M50's? There's no way I'd pay for what they're asking for the Beats. You can get some really good cans for that money.- SemperParatus

I've discovered the perfect pair of headphones!
I've got the AT M50's in the mail and I'm planing on ordering the AD700's, ASAP, for basically what you're saying. I think the 2 will cover everything I need and if there was a way to combine them...it would be perfect. Of course there isn't though... Maybe I'll put the M50 on one ear and the...- SemperParatus

Thank you. That's kind of the feeling I've been getting, with the M50's and Q40's being pretty similar.- SemperParatus

This is part of "weighing the options"; speaking with people who have experience with any or all of these. I'm certainly not just going to go off of what each of the manufactures say about them, or I'd never know their flaws.- SemperParatus

I was hoping I wouldn't have to do this... (opinions needed)
I was hoping I could just search and search the Head-fi forums and come to the conclusion of which headphones to get, and although it has helped me narrow it down, I must give in and make yet another "which headphones should I get" thread. So here's what I've narrowed it down to...- SemperParatus
