I have a pair of M6's, they are excellent for public transport, and they take a very long time to break. I would definitely recommend them for abuse.

Damn that sucks, the same happened to me with a pair of IE7's. But after I opened a claim on eBay, the guy sent me my money back. So I took apart the headphones and to no surprise found some cheap crappy mini-speakers in the headphones. Hope you get your refund.
