Heard her being interviewd on BBC Radio 2. Her debut album is very good too. Others I like, Stevie Nicks, Kate Bush, Katie Melua, Duffy, Lily Allen, Sade, Alanis Morrisette to name a few.

In particular her latest album 'A Curious Thing' What can I say - upbeat misery at its best.

Can't believe no one has mentioned Shirley Bassey.

I'm looking for a good quality portable MP3 player and hear these two are pretty good. Have any of you guys experience of either?

I was thinking of getting the Cowan S9 MP3 player as this has some great reviews. Now Nonsupremous mentions The Sony X series I'm in a dilema. Which one to get??

I understand that the Cowan is a superior player to say the Apple iTouch. Is it likely to handle the 840's better?

Comfort is important & a good degree of isolation. I listen to every type of music, jazz, prog rock, pop, classical, big band, etc

Thanks for the great advice. Looks like i'm going for the shure's. I appreciate an amp would make a differance to quality of sound but how critical in this instance would an amp be?

Can you guys help please. I'm looking for some headphones for my iTouch. They need to be closed back and ideally cover the ears rather than sit on them. I have the Grado SR60's which are ok, but bothers the other half if she's watching telly.
