mechanical pencils?
I can't believe you replied to this thread... I started this thread almost 10 years ago.... But I suppose the conversation is still relevant! I was a freshman in high school when I first asked about mechanical pencils. Now I'm preparing for the GREs and using them more and more. My main...- onionblaster

looking for a nice cheap (<100) gift for a friend
Thanks all! Loving those superlux. How open are they? My friend does a bit of recording (usually in his room but sometimes in a little ad-hoc laptop setup in a quieter space) so the more closed, the better. I know at $50 there's not gonna be any perfectly-isolating studio quality recording...- onionblaster

looking for a nice cheap (<100) gift for a friend
Hey all, My best friend at college is completing his senior thesis which involves a lot of listening to, transcribing, and analyzing top 40 pop tunes. Every time I walk past his bedroom he's sitting at his desk with headphones on listening to stuff like Ke$ha and scribbling furiously on...- onionblaster

the official "Iowa sucks" thread
i'm at Grinnell College and I think that Iowa's not so bad. I have my issues with it but those mostly stem from coming from the east coast. I just miss things like roads with names that aren't numbers, and that curve. And I miss food where the ingredients aren't things like snickers bars...- onionblaster

college-friendly sleeping IEMs
The ne-7ms don't look very low profile to me, but I couldn't really tell the size of them from the pictures. I also don't need the microphone aspect of it. But again, the comfort is the main thing. Thanks for all the suggestions, they've been really helpful. Some isolation and quality music...- onionblaster

college-friendly sleeping IEMs
my problem with the warranty idea is that my mom bought me these phones as a birthday present when I was at home -- so I don't have any of the original purchase information and I don't know if she does either. She might, but it would be about 1500 miles away.- onionblaster

college-friendly sleeping IEMs
Hey everyone. Freshman in college here, been here 2 weeks, and my PFE's just cut out on me. I'm getting no sound in the right ear. I was using them to help me get to sleep. NPR doesn't come through in my dorm room so I would listen to podcasts as I drift off to sleep, which worked great until...- onionblaster

long time no see...my e2cs finally bit it
I dont' know much about that SCL line, although amazon has SCL4s for about a hundred bucks. SCL3s are like E3C, you say, but apparently so are SE210s? Shure, why hast thou forsaken me? Do they seriously release all those versions of essentially the same headphone for different prices? These...- onionblaster

long time no see...my e2cs finally bit it
Isolation's pretty huge. These are headphones for situations when I want isolation -- long rides, intense work sessions, things like that. In terms of sound signature, I liked the e2c's fine, so I'm sure the equivalent on the new line or maybe a step or two up would suit me fine. I like the sort...- onionblaster

long time no see...my e2cs finally bit it
Hi everyone, I haven't been here in a long time, but then again I haven't been in the market for a while either. I'm going on a trip in the next couple weeks and my trusty rusty e2cs have finally met their maker. I struggled through with them for a few months, fiddling, twisting, and bending the...- onionblaster
