Lightning Cables - Official and Custom (welcomed).
TLDR: I have an update and it's good news: FiiO K1 Meenova Lightning-to-MicroUSB Cable That combo works perfectly on my iPhone 6s Plus! No need for CCK!!!! Further comments: In the Apple Music app it even says "FiiO USB DAC K1" at the bottom of the screen. There are no...- DeanKeith

Lightning Cables - Official and Custom (welcomed).
The FiiO L19 is probably my safest bet, but It's $30 everywhere I've found it and I would really pay a lot for expedited shipping too (or have to wait). I'm kind of wanting this soon as my new headphones will arrive Thursday. . It also looks like the L19 may not fit if my phone has a case on it...- DeanKeith

It would only be "bad tidings" if I ordered it before waiting for an answer from you guys. Thank you so much for the info. That explains my question about "why CCK" and the K1. So I'm more informed. My only issue with the Oppo HA-2 is the price. I'm looking for a budget amp solution that...- DeanKeith

Can anyone confirm that... The Zeskit Lightning to USB Cable: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00VRJZ2CY/ Will work with the FiiO K1: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0189EVGAG/ On an iPhone 6S+? I don't see why it wouldn't but I'm also still a little confused why so many people say you need...- DeanKeith

V-Moda Crossfade LP
I use them directly off an iPhone 5s, and they have plenty of volume and bass. I have a FiiO E6, but honestly haven't tried it with them as they sound fine without. I use them at work and they don't leak sound at the volume I use. I also sometimes use the Denon App for EQ, and they sound...- DeanKeith

M-Audio Q40 Replacement Cable
I got mine here: http://www.daleproaudio.com/p-10322-beyerdynamic-edt-770-vb-replacement-ear-pads-pair-velour-black.aspx They are "special order" so they don't ship immediately, but I had no problems... just a bit of a wait.- DeanKeith

For you guys shopping for a new cable, you might want to check out this thread: http://www.head-fi.org/t/506494/m-audio-q40-replacement-cable I found one I like that has the bonus of a button/mic to control your mp3 player/phone (I posted pics in that thread).- DeanKeith

M-Audio Q40 Replacement Cable
Quote: I am pretty sure that is just the regular straight cable all coiled up... look at the way it's tied up at the ends of the coil. An actual coiled cable looks quite different... example: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B002Z9JWYO/ (note, I am by no means suggesting the cable I just...- DeanKeith

M-Audio Q40 Impressions (long w/pics)
I have had mine for only about a month, and I love them too. I replaced my pads and it was both easier than I thought but more time consuming than I was expecting. There were no tools required, and I didn’t have to do anything permanent, however stuffing the new pads into the tiny slot around...- DeanKeith

I can only listen to hardstyle, and most "techno" for a short period before I start getting tired of that "womp womp womp" beat... Maybe it's because I'm a drummer, but I just need some variety in the beat. My current favorite Electronica group is Infected Mushroom. Here are some...- DeanKeith

I will probably write more... but I tried out my M-Audio Q40's today, and I really do like them. Here is the short version: Tried them first unamped. They sounded great. Easily as good as Beats Pro (from what I can remember). The bass was very nice, and nothing else was missing or...- DeanKeith

M-Audio Q40 Replacement Cable
Okay, I just got my Q40's in the mail, and the BlackBox C150 cable. For the record, the cable fits and looks great on the headphones. No mod necessary. But (as expected) the button only works directly from the headphones jack of a smartphone or mp3 player, and not through the LOD. I knew...- DeanKeith

I was reading about the ZO2, and it appears the ZO2.1 does not have the high gain / low gain modes that the newer ZO2.3 has. Since I use a line out doc (LOD) with my iPhone, that seems like the ZO2.3 would be better? http://www.digizoid.com/support/ Also, has anyone directly...- DeanKeith

The Beats Pro are quite good for electronic music. Long story short, it was the Beats Pro that started me on the search for the perfect basshead cans. I tried them out at a store and they really sounded great... but of course I was pumping Infected Mushroom through them, so that was probably a...- DeanKeith

The Beats Pro are rather good (a Beats Pro Review)
I just ordered: M-Audio Q40 Reviews: http://www.head-fi.org/products/m-audio-studiophile-q40-closed-back-dynamic-headphones/reviews They have not arrived yet, so I can't say with any certainty they are better than Beats Pro, but I have a feeling they are quite a bit better, and cheaper...- DeanKeith

Quote: I might get some Atrios someday... especially now that you can get the custom ear molds, but that's still a lot of money for me to blow on IEMs. My NuForse NE-7M can certainly pump out the bass. I would say it's more bassy than my Sennheiser HD 570s, and less bassy than my Sony...- DeanKeith

I was looking around the Future Sonics site, and just found that if you're willing to spend the extra $$ you can get Atrios with custom ear molds... that would make them super comfortable. So that might be the best basshead IEM option ever: http://www.mcssl.com/store/futuresonics/package-4- DeanKeith

Quote: I currently have a FiiO E6 and a L3 LOD. I realize the iPhone control probably won't work through the LOD, and it might not sound as good directly from the headphones jack, but for using this at work in my cubicle, I think the tradeoff with having a pause button will be worth...- DeanKeith
