Valab NOS DAC - subjective listening and modifications
Could the Lundahl transformer be wired to a RCA plug, and so made part of the digital cable? This would enable very easy before after comparisons, and allow it to be used on other dacs as well. John C.- Habaneroholic

Plz help with my first Turntable rig...
The phono preamp is used to bring the very low level signal from the cartridge up to where the preamp will be able to use it. Some preamps already have an input for phono(MM) that bypasses the need for a phono pre. If you upgrade to moving coil cartridge you will need a trafo before the...- Habaneroholic

You cannot lie @ The Apple Store
Samsung has a white sticker that changes color if it gets wet. It also shorts something, and disables the phone. If you peel the sticker off, it will usually restore operation. John C.- Habaneroholic

If I wanted to make money with a CNC machine....what would you want to buy?
I run a machine shop for a living(no CNC) To do the bigger pieces some of you might want reguires a large miller. You need both travel, and rigidity. Theres very little that can'r be done on a manual mill or lathe, it just takes some thinking and setup time. I farm out any CNC that can't...- Habaneroholic

Gearheads: Would you recommend a torque wrench?
I like the Sears Craftman Digitorque. Its easier for a beginner to read than a micrometer type wrench. Also, it goes without saying, NEVER use a torque wrench as a breaker bar. John C.- Habaneroholic
