Sound Card Recommendation?
My Titanium HD has served me well but finally gave up the ghost today :( I play a decent amount of games and dabble with bedroom music production, but nothing super serious so I don't need professional audio interfaces with tons of inputs. TiHD was fine for me in that regard. I'm not opposed...- z0rz

Android phones and USB DACs
Yeah, I've tried a couple flash drives (FAT32 and NTFS) and a USB mouse. The LED on every device illuminates, so it's getting power from my power source, but I haven't gotten a single one of them to actually mount/function. I have like 8 different USB host apps that I've been trying and none of...- z0rz

Android phones and USB DACs
I can't for the life of me get my LG Optimus G (USA AT&T E970 on latest update, 4.1.2, rooted but otherwise stock) to play with USB audio. I have a HiFiMeDIY Sabre Tiny. I have a normal USB OTG cable and an OTG Y-cable which I connect to a power source, I've tried UARP and the UAPP beta...- z0rz

Android phones and USB DACs
Is there an easy way to tell if these super cheap knockoff Android tablets have USB audio output? There are going to be a ton of them on sale this weekend.- z0rz

Android phones and USB DACs
It can certainly be a pain to find the latest page in the thread with the updated list. A dedicated link with the updated list seems like an awesome idea. It would be really cool if you could put all of this in a sortable spreadsheet and add values for "native USB audio" or "UARP only," etc...- z0rz

Android phones and USB DACs
I tested the DAC on my PC and it worked fine. It looks like there's either something wrong with my OTG cable (maybe they sent me a non-OTG cable?) or something is wrong with my phone -- I can't get any of my flash drives to mount to my phone through the OTG cable. Bleh.- z0rz

Android phones and USB DACs
I'm unable to get USB Audio Recorder PRO to open with a HiFimeDIY Tiny DAC on my LG Optimus G (AT&T, E970). Do I need a different kernel or what? I'm on stock 4.1.2 (latest for E970).- z0rz

Asus Xonar Essence STX or HeadRoom Total Bithead
Seems like a no-brainer to me. According to your post, the STX has a superior DAC so it has the edge when listening to music, and is superior for gaming with its Dolby features. I suppose the Dolby features point is a draw if you have the same features on your previous soundcard, but I don't...- z0rz

X-Fi Titanium or... ???
Cool, thanks! I found a new TiHD on eBay for $100 so I went ahead and snagged that :D Just to clarify-- if (more like when) I get the upgrade itch in the future, I can feed the TiHD into an external DAC via S/PDIF and still make use of the DSP features of the TiHD with games, right?- z0rz

X-Fi Titanium or... ???
Hey guys, I'm looking to try out an internal sound card since I spend a lot of time playing video games on my PC. I also listen to a lot of music so high sound quality would be really nice to have as well. If I had to break it down I'd say 60% gaming 40% music. I currently use Beyerdynamic DT770...- z0rz

Better Sound Card or Amp/DAC?
Hm.. I've read good and bad things about the Zero, but overall it seems pretty good for its price. What are some other amp/DAC options for roughly 100-200 USD? And again, if I were to go with the Zero and use the optical out from my Audigy 4, wouldn't the sound ultimately be limited by the...- z0rz

Better Sound Card or Amp/DAC?
Yeah, I've been noticing a lot of recommendations for the Zero amp/DAC around these parts. Would it be wise to buy a Zero and pair it with a sound card with better features for gaming? I'm actually not too sure about how important EAX or Dolby/DTS encoding are, but from what I can gather, the...- z0rz

Better Sound Card or Amp/DAC?
Still haven't decided which solution to go for. I don't know a whole lot about specs of sound cards/DACs, so I'm hoping to get some advice from anyone that has been through this before. What is the best option for sound quality for both games and music (and music production I suppose)? PCI or...- z0rz

Better Sound Card or Amp/DAC?
Thanks Gilly, that gives me a good starting point! I'm not entirely sure but I think my PCI-E x1 slot is being blocked by my video card, so I think the STX might not be an option. The specs on it look pretty impressive though. I couldn't find the non-X version for sale -- has it been released...- z0rz

Better Sound Card or Amp/DAC?
Hello, Head-Fi! I've been roaming these forums and read a lot of helpful threads here, so I figured this would be the best place to ask for some input! I recently purchased Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 80 headphones for my desktop. I generally just play video games and listen to music. On occasion I...- z0rz
