sx-880 will work great, I am currently running my d7000's off of an sx-780, one model below that one and it makes them sound awesome. Tons of power, as well as great tone control if that is something you like to mess with as well.

The Sony's definately have a more forward midrange, I would say these have more of a grin shape than the full smile the Denon's seem to have , a little colored on both edges but not as much as the Denons it would sound like to me. Not sure the best way to describe it, but the sound seems fuller...
