Personally, I don't mind my units to be limited to 16/48 since I don't have any hi-rez files in my iDevices anyway. After knowing that the first units are ready my patience ran out. I can't wait another few weeks :p- bayac

In Japan general head-fi chat
Hi guys. Kowada-san from Soundpotion sent me an e-mail and asked me to inform Japan-based Head-Fi'ers that the Monolith amp is available through their online store. The site's been up for couple of months so maybe you guys already know about it. Assembled amps and raw boards for DIY'ers are...- bayac

Hi guys. We had a great time at Currawong's place today. It's too bad I didn't have much time to hang out with you guys at the Tokyo Festival this time. Hopefully I have more time in the fall.- bayac

Fukuoka Japan mini-meet
When we have a local meet their's always someone who has a new piece of gear. Sometimes it's something bought or sometimes it's a DIY project. We get all excited auditioning and chatting about them and have fun. This time was a bit different. Almost all of Currawong's gear were new to us and...- bayac

Here's the ADL cable's page. Looks like they don't have an English page yet but it does say the cable will be Apple approved. It'll be on sale in June in Japan. http://www.furutech.com/ja/2013/03/15/6754/- bayac

Centrance Hifi-M8 and Hifi-M8 LX (8 versions!) impressions thread
First of all, I want to thank Michael and Stacie for their great exhibit and hospitality. I only had a brief listen to the Hifi-M8 due to the "serious discussion about social psychology" we had at the booth I tried the 4pin XLR model with my iPhone 5 and got the impression that the sound...- bayac

FujiyaAvic 2012 Autumn Headphone Festival in Tokyo report by Currawong
I also liked the Monolith amp. Imaging was excellent and its sound was crisp and clear. I think it would be a perfect match especially with darker sounding phones. I used it with an ER-4S so I can't comment on noise and hiss but guys who used it with sensitive IEM like JH-13 or FitEar MH334...- bayac

Quote: Michael, could you consider offering right-angled 30-pin and lightning cables? Because the input and output are on the opposite sides of the M8, using straight cables would be difficult especially when carrying the M8 in a bag or a pocket. BTW, my M8 t-shirt came in today...- bayac

The Centrance HiFi M8 thread
I've been curious about the USB input. Does Hifi-M8 accept 24/192 from Windows without a dedicated driver? Ratoc from Japan released a USB DAC which does 24/192 from Windows w/o additional drivers and I was wondering whether Hifi-M8 will do the same. Good luck on CanJam! I'm pretty sure...- bayac

If you still love Etymotic ER4, this is the thread for you...
Quote: Yes, my avatar are the reshelled ER-4's. My reshelled ER-4S has a different sonic signature compared to the normal ER-4S and it's because I changed the resistor from the stock ones to Vishay Z201's. At first, Rooth used a chip resistor which wasn't the stock one and the sound...- bayac
