    Is your WIN 7 64 bit or 32? You may need a special 64bit driver for dac.Contact dealer ASAP you got the HRT dac from. To answer your question: YES!!

    Cheap...el cheapo USB cord?The HRT is not getting enough voltage/amperage to operate.Try a thicker better usb cord like from a printer. If not working still contact by phone or email "Tech Department " of HRT. Be sure to specify using Win7.Once working, looking forward to QC comments posts.

    3,5 mm to 3,5 mm minijack cable - where to buy a high quality one on e-bay?

    Search for Cardas 6" cable or fiio 3.5mm mini cable on eBay. I recommend cardas. Both are ~6",excess length can be looped or tied in half with smallest(4") nylon cable. Ideal length is only what needed for dap and amp but the anything shorter than 6" are $$.

    2X on HF5. All faults of ER6i>iffy cable,light bass, construction (plastic vs aluminum body,tips will break) all fixed. I also have the the  ER4p and s. Besides accuracy and cable same construction fault. Go with HF5s.See my bio stuff.
