Has anyone tried this or a similar combo? If so, how does it sound? I'm planning on putting a computer together with the Striker 7.1 as my sound card. I'm wondering if it is even worth using the Optical out, because I haven't heard much about it anywhere.

The bending took me about 6 seconds, so by using that as an excuse as to not get them would be pretty dumb.

After reading everything that I have about the 555s and Sennys in general, I really don't see how they could be better in any way than the AD700s. I JUST performed the AD700 headband mod. It is very easy, and the fit has greatly improved. Not to mention I can hear the bass moreso than before...

I'm willing to bet that you'd be happiest with the AD700s. Although I haven't tried the others, the AD700s would no doubt handle classical without a problem.

Darkest Hour (band) on shuffle through my AD700s.

I'd say that they'd be great for classical and symphonic metal. As for gaming, they're amazing.

The 240s are alright for gaming and a little less alright for music, imo. I got to use them with the Astro Mixamp, they were amazing. I actually preferred the 240s over the A40s. I used them anytime I didn't need to communicate. I mean, they'll do the job obviously. Their positional audio...

I'm definitely getting these on Friday, they're so sick looking.

If the prices are decent, I might end up getting both. Although I'll probably start with the E7, then when I feel like upgrading get the E9. Oh, I can't wait!

I've heard alot of good things about the SRH840 and SRH440.

If you can find 595s for 150, then you should definitely consider those. Another option is the AD700s.
