V-MODA VAMP VERZA/METALLO: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, Crowdsourcing Ideas
I would love to hear some reviews of how this amp sounds with other headphones besides V-MODA cans. I own the Sennheiser HD-25 II's and their sound is drastically different from the M-80 and M-100's. In fact, I really don't prefer the sound of V-MODA's headphones in the slightest bit. I do...- tateburns

Compatible mobile Amps/Dacs for the iPhone 5
Quote: Does anyone know of any others? The Verza appears to be still bleeding edge and the iPhone 5 case isn't even available yet. Looks like as most people expected, devices are becoming available. I would expect to see more by the end of the year.- tateburns

Questions about the Yulong D100 MKII
Hmm found an ASIO driver setup guide for the U100/D100 even complete with Foobar instructions, but makes no mention of needing to use the resampler in Foobar after enabling 24-bit ASIO playback via the Yulong driver. http://yulongaudio.com/en/shownews.asp?id=10- tateburns

Questions about the Yulong D100 MKII
Finding the TC Electronic Pilot renewed my interest in the Yulong D100. This is a really great looking device that would sit between the D100 and my active monitors apparently adding no sonic degradation (totally passive device). This would also be perfect for switching between headphones and...- tateburns

Questions about the Yulong D100 MKII
That's very helpful. So I shouldn't place so much stock in using Foobar to adjust volume? Your previous post said computer volume should be at 100% before it hits the DAC.- tateburns

Questions about the Yulong D100 MKII
With active studio monitors and no need for an amp or pre-amp that essentialy leaves me with only the option of controlling volume via the tiny hard to reach knobs on the back of my monitors. Guess I'll need to look elsewhere beyond the Yulong then. I'm interested in any other offerings in...- tateburns

Questions about the Yulong D100 MKII
I have volume control knobs on the back of my active Event TR8 studio monitors, but it would be a total PITA to control it that way. It is my understanding, for best performance and a truly bit perfect signal to your DAC you should not use any volume control via software. This is the...- tateburns

Questions about the Yulong D100 MKII
Greetings, I'm interested in purchasing a Yulong D100 MKII, but have a few questions I'm wondering if someone can help answer. 1) Does it support ASIO or any other flavor of kernel streaming on it's USB input from a PC or MAC? 2) Does it support all bit rates up to 24/96? I...- tateburns

Sennheiser HD25-1 ii vs. V-MODA M-80 / V-80
Just bought the HD-25's from B&H for $169. That's a steal! Easily sealed the deal over the M-80's.- tateburns

Sennheiser HD25-1 ii vs. V-MODA M-80 / V-80
Currently torn between these two and I'm not really at the crossroads of sound performance, but rather the more physical aspects at this point. How do the HD-25's fair in strong winds? Things can get pretty blustery here in Chicago and nothing bothers me more than a set of headphones that...- tateburns

++ FULL-SIZE HEADPHONE RECOMMENDATIONS THREAD++ CLOSED: Please post a thread in the Introductions, Help and Advice forum
Quote: Thanks for the tip. I've been looking at those and they seem to be widely accepted as a great set for the money. I'm leaning toward those, the AIAIAI TMA-1 or the AKG K271- tateburns

++ FULL-SIZE HEADPHONE RECOMMENDATIONS THREAD++ CLOSED: Please post a thread in the Introductions, Help and Advice forum
Greetings, I'm looking for a good recommendation on a set of $100-150 on-ear headphones that would be suitable for use on public transportation. I say for use on public transportation because I want something that doesn't emit a lot of noise out into the room like my open-back AKG 702's...- tateburns

SR325i vs. K 702?
So I got the AKG 702's about a week ago. Thank god I ordered the Shanling PH100 because my Edirol USB DAC WAS NOT even close enough to pushing these cans. The Shanling PH100 came a few days later and completely changed the sound of the 702's. Much more punch to the bass and a fuller sound all...- tateburns

SR325i vs. K 702?
So I've made up my mind. I'm going with the K 702's. Can anyone recommend a reasonably affordable and easily procurable amp that would pair well with these? Would something like a modded Creek OBH-11 go well?- tateburns

SR325i vs. K 702?
If I go with the 702's, that still leaves money in my budget for an amp. I can't find anywhere to even buy the Canamp or Arietta. Where might I procure these?- tateburns

SR325i vs. K 702?
The D5000 and HD650 are just a hair out of my price range too. "The AKGs have bass, deep bass, just not prominent bass." That's the same way I feel about my Event TR8 monitors. It's something when people who are used to rattling their computer desks and shaking the entire room with boomy...- tateburns

SR325i vs. K 702?
The lack of bass in the 701/702's is the main thing holding me back from taking the plunge. My Event TR8 monitors lack bass impact and consequently when I take my mastering projects into the living room or in the car they are really bass heavy. I'm not an engineer by any means and I'm learning...- tateburns

SR325i vs. K 702?
One major thing I keep reading about the AKG K 701/702's is that they will undoubtedly reveal the weaknesses in poorly recording music. Thinking heavily about that, I feel that's more what I'm looking for in a headphone when mastering live soundboard recordings. I could go for something fun like...- tateburns

SR325i vs. K 702?
So I've been doing tons of research the past few weeks and have managed to partially pull myself out of a deep hole of a confusion as to which headphones I should invest in. I listen to a lot of rock and electronic music. Some acoustic guitar and folk/country as well. No classical. I like...- tateburns
