Review: Jkeny’s modified Hiface
Great work John Regarding the I2S mod i have an assemblage 2.7 dac that I'm heavily modding. It has three inputs; coax-bnc, opt-tos and aes/ebu. I want to remove one of the input connectors and wire your I2S modded Hi-face straight to the inputs on the board. Is this possible to simply...- Zerotohero

Great work slim - Have you or anyone else on here compared the cables you have reviewed with the nordost moonglo digital cable? It is the one i currently have and I would be interested in upgrading it if one of your recommendations is an improvement. Thanx -
Modified M2tech Hiface Units
Hello John, Does the 3.3v battery and 5v usb cable mods also power the 1.8v fpga chip? If so, then am I right in thinking that with these two mods the modded hiface is not using any power from the computer at all? Thanx- Zerotohero

Help with damaged psu in assemblage dac
Hi there, I have an assemblage 2.7 dac that blew its transformer and fuse while i was on holiday. I replaced the psu with the identical model and the lights all came on so i thought everything was fine. However after leaving it on for several minutes it started to smell and slowly started...- Zerotohero

Ultimate case design - best materials?
Thanks Thermionic. From what your saying it sounds like i should avoid using the steel plate in the base and just use the 4mm aluminum. As far as shielding the power supply - is it ok to just shield the transformer or do the caps etc need to be shielded too?- Zerotohero

Ultimate case design - best materials?
Thanks for everyone's input. I think i will make the case out of 4mm brushed aluminum. I think I'll also insert a cutout of 5mm steel to bolt to the floor of the chassis to add weight and stability. I will make a separate compartment for the power supply components and will try and shield it...- Zerotohero

Audio-GD Reference 7 - the new flagship DAC
Another solution to raise the transporter up is to use isolation cones. Apart from the extra space for cooling they improve the sound a bit too.
