This is really how i feel. The HEK's just want to let you enjoy the music, and everything is present in spades. *Edited (Moderator Note) - No need to re-quote entire review (be nice to mobile users, please)-- boinger

Well to use your analogy. I wouldn't really call the HEK watered down. I think that is doing it a rather disservice. I would say the HEK is more like a smooth 18 or 25 yr scotch with all the nuances present. And the HD800 / HE-6 are more like a single malt with a slight bite at the finish you...- boinger

@zeissiez Thanks for the kind words. I used the K1K and the Low impedance outputs. I feel the Low impedance is a little better simply for the increased volume range. The K1K output is simply too high for the HEK's. You end up staying to low in the volume knob and its to fine an adjustment. This...- boinger

I just received my HEK's and been listening to them for 2 days now. I will post a more detailed review later if people care to hear more details about it. I agree with a lot of what has already been posted. But my take on them is a slightly different. Yes the HD800 you "can" say has...- boinger

I was moving my setup into a more permanent case and doing some rewiring / testing... long story short there was a loose wire and the v+ from the sigma shorted to the signal ground on the beta i believe i am not 100% sure thats what happened but judging from the wires positioning and my...- boinger
