So I decided to take a chance and download the latest firmware. Took 3 tries but was successful. So far everything is working fine.

Just got the go pods. Paired them with my westone w80. They do sound good and stay in my ears nicely. Was going to upgrade the firmware but after seeing the problems am thinking about waiting a bit until the download issues are worked out. Is there a reason to upgrade the firmware now when...

I think the V20 is comparable to wither dac..  I need to listen to the two phones together.  But I actually like the sound of the lg hi fi module slightly better than the dragonfly, although it's close.  The dragonfly uses less battery.  Lg hi fi is  power hungry.

I know.  Tempted to buy it through amazon.  At least they have a reasonable return policy.  I also e-mailed mobile fun and asked them if they know the answer.  It would have to be a software issue.  But would LG really block it?  Decisions.

Also, because there really is nothing on tv right now for me, I just spoke to LG again.  Now the rep says that if I bought the hi fi module outside the US, there should be no problem with it being compatible here.  This is quite confusing.

so I had a chance to compare the s7 edge to the g5.  Used se 846 straight streaming amazon music, as it was on both phones.  My impression was the g5 sounded better.  The sound was crisper.  Bass on the s7 was more muddled.  It was not dramatic, but noticeable.

Yea I feel your pain.  I called LG again this morning ( because I am that OCD), and was told by a different person than yesterday that the Hi Fi module will be released in the US by the end of the month.  Still thinking about the V10, but am more than likely going to stay with the G5 and hope it...

Agreed.  I bought the G5 for the hifi.  I have 10 days to decide whether to keep it, get the v10, or the s7 and live with the s7 sound. These are horrible decisions to make.

I just got off the phone with LG 2 minutes ago.  The rep said that, indeed, the hi fi mod will be released in the US with the other modules.  So there seems to be a bit of contradiction here. He assured me that it is coming even after I questioned him about the info here.
