Pink Floyd
Wish You Were Here - Experience Edition comes with a second disc of unreleased tracks. 'You've Got To Be Crazy (Live at Wembley 1974)' is an amazing track! It is essentially the song 'Dogs' off Animals but with more bite and rawness (probably due to its live nature). A must listen for anyone who...- mouse6nelson

Yamaha A-S500 ... finally something worth auditioning from Yamaha
I prefer to listen to headphones with my A-S500 over my Nuforce Icon-2, I find I gives a bigger soundstage and better clarity. I don't find it very 'bright' unless the music im listening to is mixed fairly bright. I enjoy the bass with my K701's, a somewhat bass light headphone, and find...- mouse6nelson

Hi Nightslayer. I did mine with a flat head screwdriver and a small block of wood. I did sharpen it a bit before hand, but I did not have to use much force to get the screwdriver through the plastic, hence why I didn't use a hammer. I'm not quite sure how you would do it with a phillips...- mouse6nelson

Hi guys, great to see some awesome mods still coming through. So I finally picked up some jumbo pads today and I think they sound great. I think they take a little bit of the mid bass out which gives some life back to vocals. They are easily the most comfortable by far! I think the genral...- mouse6nelson

Need some help with the next step after Portico Quartet
If you haven't got them already, Portico Quartet - Isla and (online only I believe) Black & White Sessions are both exceptional. Other bands you could try; (Any of their albums are good) Esbjorn Svensson Trio - From Gagarin's Point of View Nik Bartsch's Ronin - Llyria Yaron Herman...- mouse6nelson

Both mahogany and walnut sound similar, they are cleaner and have a bit more 'air' to them through the mid and high frequency's also the bass has tighten up (I have 10 holes vented) over what I had with plastic. I went with walnut over mahogany because they have a bit more bass without losing...- mouse6nelson

Thanks for the comments guys, yes they are all just one piece, I will most likely cut the cable up near the driver and use a mini XLR connector (if it fits in the cup nicely) or a 3.5ml mono jack. The other option would be to just completely re-cable the whole thing. I have done it with my...- mouse6nelson

Any netbook/laptop with a good optical out or coax?
Hi Anouk Yes you can boot off a USB device as long as you set the USB device up correctly (not hard to do tho) Ubuntu will work fine on the netbook I know there are some issues where somethings don't work properly although I have yet to personally find these yet. I can point you in the right...- mouse6nelson

Any netbook/laptop with a good optical out or coax?
The lowest spec N10 come pre loaded with windows XP the reason why they didn't want to use it is microsoft only lets manufactures install windows xp on netbooks with 1GB RAM, 160GB hard drive and a few other conditions. Obviously this mean that the N10 couldn't be anything more then an standard...- mouse6nelson

Windows 7 - Upgrade or Clean Install?
I just did a Clean install on my netbook to windows 7 and it sucked big time!! Any netbook/laptop with a good optical out or coax?
Also your questions about the Eee pc line, I don't think any of them have SPIDF on them but i can't say i have checked. Some have longer battery life but the is due to the fact they aren't as good. The Eee pc line are there budget range and the N10 are the top of the line range (infact ASUS...- mouse6nelson

Any netbook/laptop with a good optical out or coax?
ASUS N10J (my main computer) has the normal Atom 1.6GHz processor in it so it is the same speed as all other netbooks (not the fastest but i have no problem with it) Biggest hard drive option is 320GB (i think) which is much bigger then most other netbooks on the market. The graphics card is a...- mouse6nelson

Any netbook/laptop with a good optical out or coax?
Have you had a look at the ASUS N10J netbook? Has a SPDIF digital output and also has HDMI digital output. And as far as netbooks go it is currently one of the only netbooks worth getting as it has a Nvidia GeForce graphics chip. ASUSTeK Computer Inc.- mouse6nelson
