Hi! I have had the Etymotic HF5 for a short while now and i have fallen in love with them. I was wondering if someone could help me figure out what a nice upgrade would be? My budget is roughly 450 dollars not included shipping. Is there any in ear headphones out there that would give me a...- Nibor

Searching for a turntable
I can recommend the Rega P1 TT i have this one myself and i am very pleased. Its out of your price range new. But maybe you can get your hands on a used one one. I replaced the original pickup with a Ortofon 2M Blue pickup and it sounds great.- Nibor

General opinion on changing EQ when listening to music? (Noob question here)
If possible, I would try to make my own custom eq setup. I know some portable payers wont let you do that. But i think some of the preset eq's are adding to the frequencies not removing and that could have a negative effect on the sound output. In the end you have to make up your own opinion...- Nibor

Need good IEMs for noise cancelling...
Hi. I just bought the HF5 from ety. And they isolate very well. I found the triple flange ones a bit uncomfortable but the foam ones where perfect for my ears. They isolate outside noises extremely well, even with the foam tips. There is also a bit of noise coming from the cord when i wear...- Nibor

Dac/amp for my phone setup.
Hi I am looking for a decent Dac/amp combo for my Alessandro MS Pro phones. This would be and easy task if it was not for the fact that i need an analog input for my LP-player. The only amp dac combo that i have found so far that gives me this possibility is the Maverick Audio D1 DAC...- Nibor

Buying my first audiophile phones
Thanks for the help guys :) I think that a pair of Sennheiser HD485 might get dropped in my mailbox shortly. I hope that these will cover my rocking out needs. But when i want to sit down and really listen to the music. Would the HD 650 be a good choice for music like Sigur ros, Andy McKee...- Nibor

Buying my first audiophile phones
Thanks for all the feedback :) I'm leaning towards the grados at this point. Considering the RS 325is. But is the 100$ step up from the RS 225i worth it? I'm going to see if i can audition som AKG's at a local retailer. Maybe that will change my mind. I do love the RS60 but they are a bit to...- Nibor

Buying my first audiophile phones
Thanks for the welcome :) I would like my music to sound "Living and fun" bringing out the details. I think the beyers are a bit cloudy for my taste and im looking for something more open and with wider soundstage. I want a firm and solid basspunch, more prominent mids that the beyers...- Nibor

Buying my first audiophile phones
Hi. I have been looking around the net for some new headphones. But the tests that i could find did not specify what kind of music the phones worked best with. I listen to music like Mew, Deftones, Lamb of god, isis, jamiroquai, tool, thrice, the fall of troy, mars volta, steely dan, john...- Nibor
