    Destroyed SuperFi 5 pro

So... I've got a pair of them, past warranty period, split opened casing, with wires torn off the solder. One side is fine, the other, well, as said, the wires in the casing that goes from the input socket plug thing, to the transducers, have been pulled out. I can ATTEMPT soldering it...

    ALPS RK097 Pot problems

I'm just running it off a 9V battery. Will check and calculate the quiescent current later when I get a chance. I'm still stumped as why it only happens with the 555 and not on other headphones?

    ALPS RK097 Pot problems

I've also checked the DC Offset on the output lugs. Seems to be minimal... So I'm not too sure why it does that? As mentioned before, I can increase the volume through my source (computer) and it won't pop at all. Only when I increase it through the pot on my amp. Oh, by the way, I'm...

    ALPS RK097 Pot problems

Thanks for the reply Tangent. I've just found what the problem is... I tested my amp with some cheap earbuds with an oscillator and a frequency generator. Output on both channels are fine, nice and clean. Came back home, tested it again with the earbuds, worked fine Plugged my 555's...

    ALPS RK097 Pot problems

Hey guys, So I've wired up my dual gang ALPS switched pot for my little CMoy amp. Worked like a dream at start. However after a while there's a little "pop" on the right channel, which then the volume decreases on the right, but increases on the left. I have to turn the amp off with the...

    Grounding - How to?

So I can just solder them all to one isolated strip on the protoboard or something? So they have to be in series with each other or? Or can I just solder them individually to any random isolated place on the protoboard?

    Grounding - How to?

Hi guys, Just starting with a bit more DIY without tutorials and whatnot, ie. schematics only. As far as grounding is concerned, how should I do it? I'm attempting the acoustic simulator from CMoy and trying to figure everything from the schematic. From his portable amp design, which I...

First ever build - CMoy, need feedback

Hey FallenAngel, So would omitting the input caps help with bass response? And with your comment about not having much DC offset, does this relate to the amp without input caps, or to my current amp? What about the options I've mentioned/read about, ie even bigger power caps etc...

First ever build - CMoy, need feedback

Hey guys, I've just finish building my CMoy amp following Tangentsoft's tutorial. (and it works!! first time ever building any electrical components ) Anyways, I've upgraded my power cap to 470uF and my input cap to 0.47uF, with opa2134pa. Gain is 10k/1.5k + 1 which is around 7.7 (just...
