Yes, they are made with very cheap materials and the construction is very poor. But take a look at the cable it comes with... the thing is a beast. HD600/650 is made with good materials but the cable is complete crap.

I like my HD600 over my old SR225s for rock... hard rock as well. The Grados were just too bright for me... the senns may not be a quick as the grados but the soundstaging makes the music so much better.

Bose Triports are like giving someone your 1 week's pay for them to shove forks in your ears. HD600s are like a cool summer breeze blowing over the dew-covered grassy plains at the bottom of a high mountaintop (with rays of delight coming from the sun of course.)

wow, lol. I have a small head... three clicks on my HD600, and no extention at all on my SR225s.

I think people forget about the absolutely awesome cable that come on the phones. It's hard to beat with an aftermarket cable... I'm sure a good chunk of the money you pay for the cans is for the cable.
