Got to about:config and switch plugins.hide_infobar_for_missing_plugin to true. But I'm using firefox 4.0 and can't test it right now so I'm not sure if it does what you want it to.

I own a 5.gen iPod nano and yesterday bought a 1.gen iPhone. I get zero hiss with the nano but when I tried the iPhone for the first time I got a loud hiss no matter where I had the volume. The headphones I'm using are sennheiser CX300. Is this normal for the iPhone?

While riding on the bus (which is when I do most of my listening) I need to have the volume at about 80%. Guess the senn CX300 doesn't have the best seal

When you hit the natural harmonic frequency of the table you are bound to get alot of resonance and there is not much you can do about it. Maybe you can try to put something soft like a pillow under the speaker. Not sure if that would help, though.

Try a program called mediamonkey. It has a free version, which can do just that.

Yes, they are probably real and cable noise is a real problem for most sennheiser IEMs.
