The only real giveaway is the sound. It's horrible, and I don't mean in a relative way. There is a HUGE boost in upper bass/lower mids, and bass distorts easily at louder volumes. Detail is bad... Anything halfway sonically complex turns into mud.   Physically, they look quite convincing...

I bought them through Amazon Warehouse. Obviously someone had purchased fakes and sold them to Amazon.

  Thanks so much for posting this. My Momentums are exactly as the pictures you've posted. While that alone wouldn't sway me to think these were fake, the horrible sound has me almost convinced.

I am beginning to wonder if the pair of Momentums I bought from Amazon Warehouse (Like New) are counterfeit. Everything looks genuine, but the sound is pretty bad.

  Ear seal is good, not optimal - my ears are around 65mm high.   I agree that the V6s are rather bass-anemic as well as the treble being a bit overly sparkly. I know that moving from one headphone to the other requires some adjusting.

  I generally listen to high-bitrate MP3s (256kbs+) and FLAC files.   I bought the Momentums because my old Sony V6s had given up the ghost. Again, not a flat set of cans, but quite good for the price.

Hence the adjective "relatively". I know the Momentums are not clinically flat, but the response on my pair is waaaaaay off.
