UE Superfi 5 Pro
I was a big fan of mine, until I slept with them inserted and cracked the housing at the connector. I think their sound signature is great. And, surprisingly, I found them very comfortable and easy to insert.- u238

New earphones for iPhone 4?
JH Audio JH 16 Pro. You said top of the line. Really my point is that you need to give a price range. Best is a dangerous thing to say around here.- u238

Newbie looking for low-end earbud recommendations
I do own a pair myself, although I've only had them for a couple of days. I was initially concerned that the bass would be overwhelming and drown out the mids and highs, but that doesn't seem to be the case. There is enough bass to satisfy most anyone I would think, but not so much that it...- u238

IEMS for under $30
The M6 is pretty good, and far better than the m9 in my opinion. They both are somewhat sibilant, but the m9 is so sibilant to my ears that it's hard to listen to. The downside is that, at least for me, getting the m6 to seal correctly is a chore. Apart from the slight sibilance and the fit...- u238

Does the new version have a right angle plug? I just received my Turbines that I ordered yesterday from Amazon and they are the old style, I believe.- u238

1964 Ears
I wonder how the Quad compares to the Monter Turbine Miles Davis Tribute or even the regular Turbine in bass quantity? I know the Turbines are a world apart from custom BA IEMs, but it's what I have to go by right now. I'm seriously considering the Quads after my Alienears C3s stopped...- u238

Meelec M6 -- Awful (Update: Not So Awful)
The M9 sounds very harsh and sibilant to me, while the m6 is still a bit sibiliant but greatly improved. I did have a bit of trouble fitting the m6 to my ears. The memory wire isn't stiff enough so it's hard to shape them correctly.- u238

Hearyourself.com custom IEM discussion thread
My IEMs arrived for repair last Wednesday, and they shipped them out on Thursday. That's impressive. I received them today, and I was initially disappointed because they had a large amount of what is apparently acrylic on them. It looks like an adhesive basically. It turns out that nearly all of...- u238

Only a few months. I did finally get ahold of them and they told me to send an email so they can start the RMA process. I haven't received a response yet, but we'll see how it goes on monday. I just hope I can have them fixed and back in my possession before the 16th. I'm kind of worried about...- u238

So I was listening to my C-3s a few minutes ago, and started to notice an issue on the left side. Turns out that the left connection doesn't work right, and the sound partially fades out depending on how you wiggle the connector. I've tried removing and reinserting it but no go. Needless to say...- u238

Super.fi 5 Pro upgrade time!
If you are looking for customs and want more bass than the SF5Pro, I recommend the Alienear C-3. There is considerably more bass with the C-3, but it's not overdone. I'm not too sure about warm clear vocals. I guess that's not something I look for in an earphone. Like you, I absolutely loved the...- u238

It seems like more music is audible from the right side
If the imbalance is not that great, I wouldn't doubt that it's just your ears. I hear slightly more / different sounds in my left ear, even with custom monitors. As has already been suggested, try swapping the left and right. If the imbalance doesn't change per each ear, then it's definitely you.- u238

A Question to Custom IEM Owners
I have had my C3s for less than twelve hours now, and I will never go back to universal. They are simply excellent. The fit is perfect; they are extremely comfortable and secure. While not the quantum leap in sound quality from cheap headphones to my now replaced Super.Fi 5 Pros, they are...- u238
