    headphone listening volume

So how effective is Sony's AVLS in protecting hearing? Does it adapt to a headphone's sensitivity by measuring current or is it valid only with stock headphones?

V6 = 7506...which would you choose? where in Australia?

I bought a pair from a Sony showroom here in Christchurch, NZ for $202 (NZ$). Here's a link, if you're interested... http://www.sony.co.nz/includes/view_...06&ssite=audio Maybe they ship to Aus?

    Trusting AVLS?

Does anyone know much about AVLS? Like the volume at which it's supposed to kick in? 70dB? I've had a look on the web and can't find anything. AVLS limits my player to half its potential volume, so when I'm listening for long stretches, as a rule of thumb, I try to listen to it at quarter volume...

So what volume level do you guys use when you're listening to it unamped at work for 8 hours? I try to stay two notches from the left on a pair of 7506's, although it varies a lot with the source. What about equilizer settings? I got use to heavy and now find anything else too weak on the bass.

i have been recomended the Sony D-NE300, how is the bass

I use a pair of Sony 7506's with the D-NE300. The 7506 is supposed to be quite a bassy 'phone. On the D-NE300's heavy equalizer setting, there's as much bass as I want. If you can't sample a pair of 7506's or there's something about their sound that turns you off, try the Sennheiser 212 Pro's. I...

    Quick Review, Sony D-NE300 PDCP at Best Buy for $60 -- it's a "10"

I get them, so I assume it's normal. When I first got mine, I dropped it on the floor, the lid opened, and the CD came flying out. Now when I play a CD with the player resting, say, on my belly, the player wobbles slightly. Because I never got the chance to test how much it wobbles out of the...

    Sony's Ever Changing 7506 Specifications

People on this board use V6 and 7506 interchangeably, but aside from the driver size, I see little in common. The official Sony website for my region gives the following specifications for the 7506... Headphone Type: Dynamic, closed Driver unit size (mm) 40 Magnet type: Neodymium Plug...
