AKG K271 MkII - Pads
Okay, I replaced the vinyls with the velours. Seems to me like the bass is definitely a bit more forward and pronounced (greater impact, lack of which being a typical issue with closed cans) now, with the mids pushed backwards a bit. Highs seem unaffected. I do notice the drivers being...- smileyborg

Yes, I do have the velour on hand. But it seems like a little bit of work to get the pads off and on, so I figured I would see what to expect here first... So I have owned the AKG K271 MkIIs for a few months now, and truly enjoy them for what I use them for - recording, mixing, monitoring, late night listening at home (closed-back is important for this). So far, I've been using only the "leatherette" pads (vinyl?)...haven't touched the velours...- smileyborg

Help me choose a Grado!
Enjoy the SR80s, I did my own listening test with the 80s, 125s, and 225s before I bought them and found the 80s to be most of what the 225s were (even though I ended up taking the 225s because of the great deal I got on them).- smileyborg
