You would probably be better off asking this question in a PC gaming forum. From the threads i've come across, 5.1 headphones are looked down upon by many. Furthermore, your usb requirement rather limits the opinions we can give you since most headphones discussed here use 1/4" or 1/8" jacks.

Not really sure about your dac question.   As for the hsu sub, i was considering getting one a month ago. No stores in Canada carry HSU subs anymore, as HSU ships direct to Canada now. I haven't really seen them for sale used either, so best bet would be direct from HSU.

What equipment are you two using the LCD-2's with?
