have you considered the Ulatrasone HFI-780. I listen to the same music as you and love them Tried ATH-ES7 > DT770 > Dre Beats and the HFI-780 beat all hands down in every aspect except comfort. Works perfectly unamped out of my Cowon D2 Good luck.

Pro-Sound is out of stock. They said Beyer is backordered for at least 30 days?? Sheeesh! Is there that much of a run on these things with people replacing ther HFI-780 earpads that they are backordered this far in advance? If anyone knows where to get a set please let me know.

The head band cushion is just really thin and soft. So when the headphone is on my head, the head band cushion compresses and it feels like the top of my head is just hitting hard plastic.

It's been two months of searching for the right pair of cans! I finally found them in the HFI-780 thanks to head-fi. I had a few criteria when deciding on a set of cans. I enjoy a variety of music but mainly Hip Hop R&B. The requirements were deep bass, clear bright highs, decent soundstage...

Does anyone know where to buy the DT250 velour earcushions. Maybe through one of the sponsors? Only place I found is B&H photo online and they are SOLD OUT. I want to replace the earcushions on the HFI-780 with softer velour type. TIA

Is there any review of ES7 vs HFI-780? I have the ES7 and love them but was wondering if the HFI-780 was an upgrade and worth the money. Mostly listen to hip/hop,R&B, love bass and clean highs... Thanks

I understand your dilemna. I also think if you like the sound go for it. You are buying it for a particular reason, portable, no amp and good sound (to your ears at least) maybe somewhat for looks. I don't post here often but have been swayed away from my gut instinct by reading too many...
