Haute Schiit! Bifrost is world's most affordable fully upgradable DAC
Quote: It's the HE-6. The headphone stand was $50 on amazon and it turned out it wasn't tall enough to put the headphones on upright, so I kind of have to hang them sideways. :/ All in all, it's overly small and cheap. It came in pieces and I had to glue it all together myself. Now...- alexsabree

Looking For Something to Build... Suggestions???
Right now my system consists of the Hifiman HE6 Headphones and the Schiit Lyr Amp using the Behringer UCA202 as my source. I'm looking to upgrade the weakest link in my setup: The DAC. I'm not filthy rich or anything. So don't look at my rig and immediately think I'm willing to spend...- alexsabree

New Schiit Lyr: Hybrid 6W Headphone Amp. Yes. Six. Watts. RMS.
Quote: I guess. There is a little black screw that's supposed to hold the knob in place and it's deep inside a crevice. I have no clue on how I'm supposed to tighten it. I'm contemplating whether or not I should just use some JB Weld and just put it in it's place. But first I'm going to...- alexsabree

How do I properly use a Headphone Amp?
I just setup Foobar to use ASIO output and bypass the windows mixer. I'm considering buying a better DAC. But honestly I have a hard time believing it's going to make any noticable difference. Not to mention that I've already spent way too much money as it is. Seeing as I'm in college and...- alexsabree

How do I properly use a Headphone Amp?
I have the Hifiman HE6 headphones and Schiit Lyr amp hooked into a Behringer USB DAC playing music from my (mainly) FLAC library. In theory, what should I set the volume on my computer to? Is there any real-world difference? Thanks! Alexsabree- alexsabree

New Schiit Lyr: Hybrid 6W Headphone Amp. Yes. Six. Watts. RMS.
I received mine not too long ago. So far, I'm extremely impressed with how it sounds with the HE6. I was previously using my home theater receiver and it kept cutting in/out. At first I thought I got a defective pair of headphones, but the Schiit Lyr fixed all my issues. And I apologize in...- alexsabree

I'm already starting to regret my purchase...
Yeah I just got them in and they are nothing short of amazing. The difference between these can's and my previous headphones (Ultrasone HFI780) is just astounding. Even with the sub-par amp that I use, the sound quality that these headphones put out are near perfection. I can only imagine what...- alexsabree

I'm already starting to regret my purchase...
Well then that makes sense. I finally got in touch with somebody and Ms. T told me that she sent an urgent email to the shipping manager in China to try to figure it all out. Hopefully I won't have to wait much longer.- alexsabree

I'm already starting to regret my purchase...
About two weeks ago I bought the HE-6 through HeadDirect. This is my first high-end set of headphones so I'm very anxious to hear them. HeadDirect has given me no indication as to when I should expect my $1200 headphones in the mail. I've tried several times to get in contact with them...- alexsabree

What do you guys think about the Ultrasone PRO 900?
Hey there, I've had quite a few headphones and I'll just briefly outline my opinion of them from 1 to 10 (10 being the best sound I've ever heard) because my sound vocabulary is lacking. Shure E2C - (5/10) *My first decent pair of phones* Klipsch Image S8 - (6/10) ATH-A700 -...- alexsabree

Right now I have some Klispch S4 ear-buds (temporarily) and I've been shocked by them a few times. I think it might have something to do with static electricity..- alexsabree

Got a taste of audiophile... what should my next step be?
I'm thinking my budget is no more than $1000. I don't mind having an amp and I don't really plan on these being portable. Portable headphones always manage to break with me. I would love to have the HD600/650, but I would much rather have some closed headphones. Is there something else out there...- alexsabree

Got a taste of audiophile... what should my next step be?
Hey guys, A few months ago I bought the AudioTechnica ATH-A700s. However, my dog got a hold of them and tore them to shreds. So as of right now I'm temporarily using my Shure E2C's and I'm starting to really miss that amazing sound that I've been so accustomed to. I listen to mainly...- alexsabree
