^^ Not sure totally understood your so-consisted notation.  :)   But felt has nothing to do with my DAC comparison.  My HE-6 was not modded with felt, and the sub-bass is very much amazing already.   And I am not sure if the "reduced diffraction effect" by felt has much effect for already...

Let's try to keep the topic on Yggy.  :)       (Just a whisper to widecatsare1: HE6 + Aleph3 left me wanting nothing from HD800 for my genre.  They are quite different in strength though, and my system is far from ideal, especially for HD800)

Me too,  :)   But this comparison is only compare 50% of Ref-7 with DAC19.  :)  Since I compare them using a SE amp (Aleph 3).  So I hope the DAC19 can achieve 90% of 50% of Ref-7  

DAC19 burnt in nicely after about 18 hours.   The "younger" sound has faded away and the tonality became even more natural.  The "detail forwardness" is also much reduced now.  The bass is more condensed with better weight, but it may have some way to go.  The bass impact and snappiness can use...

Not much people using this DAC and I cannot resolve the issue with any post here.  So Gustard DAC-X12 is gone back for a refund.  I was glad that Massdrop offers full refund with even shipping covered.

Just curious.  For the EMI shielding to work, the foil needs to be grounded.  How did you ground those foil?

Apparently not or I have not problem.  :)  and  :(   It was the older generation DI with only BNC and coax output of SPDIF.  I had one tied up with my Audio-GD Ref-7 with BNC coax.
