    New Audio-gd DAC-19 [10th Anniversary Edition]

My experience and communication with KingWa about DAC-19_10yr and other higher end (more expensive) DAC shows that better power supply and more volume and better quality on Bass is the main differentiating factor.  Certainly balanced implement also increase the cost.  This holds true for my...

    New Audio-gd DAC-19 [10th Anniversary Edition]

... which one? I guess that you were trying to say "going to listen, and enjoy DAC-19 for a while".  And you are positive about DAC-19 in comparison to Gumby?   Your tone was kind of ambiguous to me, so I can only guess.    And do keep us updated on you meet with DAC-19/Gumby/Yggy Trio.

    New Audio-gd DAC-19 [10th Anniversary Edition]

Glade to hear that DAC-19 is a level up Bimby.  That is what I suspect from reading some posts.  However, other posts on web do praise MB implementation to such a stage that makes me curious and wonder since I have not yet any chance to hear them.  For me, I just like to make sure and double...

    New Audio-gd DAC-19 [10th Anniversary Edition]

I have always listened my DAC-19 via Digital Interface, and hence I am not aware of the Amanero's 1-sec delay issue.  Recently I have been quite impressed with the DAC-19 => Aleph 3 => HE-6 (and DAC-19 => Phoenix => HD800 in the past).  Both systems are so clear and smooth even at very large...

LH Labs Geek Out v2 Discussion Thread

Thanks to the helpful info.  So Amanzon has GOV2 with old ugly case.  The only place to get new V+ with newer case is from marketplace.lhlabs.com, and the delivery time is unknown yet?  And even I order GOV2 from LHlab and I need to wait for manufacturing and the case will still be the ugly one...

LH Labs Geek Out v2 Discussion Thread

I am very interested in GOV2 but is very confused on the where/when to order.  I read about the poor quality 3D printed case and would like to wait for a possible "improved" version (if it is planed?)  I apologize for not having time to browsing on the Internet to figure out what is the current...

    New Audio-gd DAC-19 [10th Anniversary Edition]

Since DAC19 use much less power (comparing to Ref-7) so I just left it power on with DI all the time.  It has been on for about a week continuously. I have been watching the sub-bass weight of DAC19.  While the bass is now probably "fully grown" with good texture and tightness, the impact and...

^^ Again, very good comments and very helpful.  I appreciated both comments and will bear those in mind for my HD800 rig.  Thanks a lot!!

    New Audio-gd DAC-19 [10th Anniversary Edition]

^^ Not sure totally understood your so-consisted notation.  :)   But felt has nothing to do with my DAC comparison.  My HE-6 was not modded with felt, and the sub-bass is very much amazing already.   And I am not sure if the "reduced diffraction effect" by felt has much effect for already...

Let's try to keep the topic on Yggy.  :)       (Just a whisper to widecatsare1: HE6 + Aleph3 left me wanting nothing from HD800 for my genre.  They are quite different in strength though, and my system is far from ideal, especially for HD800)

@purrin and @negura: Thanks a lot for the honest and sincere replies.  I do prefer slightly warmer sound with substance as long as the focusing was not suffered too much.  Your testimony can save me big bucks in venturing to the wrong direction.  It looks the Theta Gen Va will be more in-line...

    New Audio-gd DAC-19 [10th Anniversary Edition]

I would like to continue my impression after 60 hours of continuous burn-in.  It seems to me its sound is stabilized.  And now I kind of having good idea of its difference from Ref-7.  While DAC19 has the same characteristic of Audio-gd's sound, which is smooth, natural tonality, and good bass...

    Schiit Yggdrasil Impressions thread

That is good to hear that it is detail but not up-to-the-front.  Very desirable thing for HD800 and HE6.  Thanks!!

    Schiit Yggdrasil Impressions thread

I have been loosely following the impression of Yggy.  It seems to me the strength of Yggy is on the 3D resolution and details.  Several great reviews seem to come from users of speakers.  I am curious that what may be the major improvement of Yggy for a dedicated headphone users (using such as...

    New Audio-gd DAC-19 [10th Anniversary Edition]

Me too,  :)   But this comparison is only compare 50% of Ref-7 with DAC19.  :)  Since I compare them using a SE amp (Aleph 3).  So I hope the DAC19 can achieve 90% of 50% of Ref-7

    New Audio-gd DAC-19 [10th Anniversary Edition]

DAC19 burnt in nicely after about 18 hours.   The "younger" sound has faded away and the tonality became even more natural.  The "detail forwardness" is also much reduced now.  The bass is more condensed with better weight, but it may have some way to go.  The bass impact and snappiness can use...

    New Audio-gd DAC-19 [10th Anniversary Edition]

I just got my DAC19 from the DHL delivery.  I was so surprised that Audio-gd's shipping speed.  It took just over a weekend for me to get it, from China to Oklahoma!!!   Wow!  I am very impressed.   I replace my Ref-7 with DAC19 and took a quick listen.  It was fed by the 1st gen DI via SPDIF...

    Gustard DAC-X12 SPDIF lost lock

Not much people using this DAC and I cannot resolve the issue with any post here.  So Gustard DAC-X12 is gone back for a refund.  I was glad that Massdrop offers full refund with even shipping covered.

    New Audio-gd DAC-19 [10th Anniversary Edition]

I was about to order the DAC19 but stuck on the option.  I am thinking of replacing the USB input with I2S-RJ45 or I2S-HDMI.  So here are the questions:   1. I have two 1st gen DIs and am using them to feed my DACs including Ref 7.  Will the USB on this DAC19 good enough to skip DI, or even DI...

    New Audio-gd DAC-19 [10th Anniversary Edition]

Thanks for the reply.  RF dampening makes sense, but as you said it will also interfere with the frequency component in the chip.  :(

    New Audio-gd DAC-19 [10th Anniversary Edition]

Just curious.  For the EMI shielding to work, the foil needs to be grounded.  How did you ground those foil?

    Gustard DAC-X12 SPDIF lost lock

Apparently not or I have not problem.  :)  and  :(   It was the older generation DI with only BNC and coax output of SPDIF.  I had one tied up with my Audio-GD Ref-7 with BNC coax.

    Gustard DAC-X12 SPDIF lost lock

Thanks a lot for the input.  I did use Coax and it was very tight connection, hence I don't think loose connection was the issue.  And I have used different coaxial cable with no difference.   I have been thinking about another USB transport such as U12 that may has I2S.  However, some...
