The Loudness War - your experiences
Even though it doesn't show clipping in Audacity, it probably has been limited or clipped. I experienced this with a 3LW track, the video sounded fuller than the album version (both bought from iTunes) and I looked at the track in Audacity.. -
The Loudness War - your experiences
It's unfortunate. There are a few artists out there with quiet music, Norah Jones is one.. I rarely listen to any alternative/rock because it sounds the worst by far to me, very harsh and very flat. I'm thinking that if the average volume for music has to be regulated, it will still be... -

OneRepublic - All the right Moves. It doesn't sound terrible but I've seen them mention that they don't like their music to be over produced and prefer having it sound more like it would if it was live... BNL - It's Only Me. Absolutely no crispness in this song at all, it sounds terrible. -
nokia 5800 xpressmusic sound quality
I have the 5230 right now and it sounds great but the volume isn't there, the iPhone is twice as loud.. I don't need it to be that loud but having it boosted a bit would be nice.- 089709867

The Loudness War - your experiences
Yeah, hearing an uncompressed version of an album (I have a prerelease of Trapt - Trapt that I found on the internet) is so much better than hearing the actual album version. Less harshness, and more punchy. It's too quiet for today, but there is definitely a middle ground to be had. This is... -

Here is One Week by Barenaked ladies. Oddly enough for this song and some others, it looks like someone forgot to reclip them when they got put on iTunes. -

Bose Wave Radio SQ? Acoustic Wave system?
Their iPod docking systems are practically repackaged wave systems. I think their Sounddock 10 sounds great, the $1200 Wave system is very overpriced. The Sounddock 10 is ok.. still overpriced. -

No more debts!!!
Time to charge it up! haha. I used my Amex Blue card for everything because of the cash back until they lowered my spending limit to where it was unusable. Now I get by with my trusty debit card.- 089709867

Are there any NC cans better than Bose?
The Audio-Technica NC headphones aren't nearly as good as the QuietComfort 15's. Just go listen to them.- 089709867

'Thanks button' at Head-Fi
A thanks button is a great add-on. You can't thank yourself either. There are really no downsides to it so why try to make one?- 089709867

WESC Headphones?
They are "stylish". Especially the square ones. I might just buy a pair to hang on the wall- 089709867

Stock SQ: Ipod Touch vs Iriver H140/120?
Well you have a 1G. Changes to the audio has been made. The 1G is way below the 2G and 3G. I'd say pick an iPod Touch just based on the value of what you're getting with the device. If you can afford it the 3G comes with a Cortex A8 processor over the ARM11 in the 2G as well as better...- 089709867

Monster Beats Solo ?
The QC15 sound much better than any of Bose's prior NC offerings. That said, I don't like the build on these headphones.. they just feel like they will start cracking that pretty shiny finish in about a year. The other beats offer almost no noise cancelling.- 089709867

Shure SE530 , Bose quiet comfort 3 or Sennheiser IE8
To me, it sounds muffled. I much prefer the QC15 to those, and they're cheaper to boot.- 089709867

Has anyone looked inside the Bose Around ears?
Warm makes sense, I doubt the majority buying these want anything other than warm sound.. it's the drivers and probably the tri-port mumbojumbo. Oh and the AE doesn't have anything infront of the driver.- 089709867
