I did the 414 mod. What I can say for right now is that I am not pretty happy with the results. It muffled the sound and it seems all over the place. I will go to sleep now and post more tomorrow.

maybe you should test both with same pad to see if pad is making the difference?

Hello, a quick update. I washed the pads 7 times (lucky seven) and now they are falling in pieces...whenever I touch them, I have black powder on my hands... Oh well...still didn't buy the 414 Seinheiser yet
