go down to somewhere you can audition headphones and have a good listen! some people like it neutral others like it warm... you have to trust your own judgement and go listen for yourself.. cos after all you will be listening to it.. not others- shungoh

I think Denon D1001 fits the bill... and their bass is quite good so you can watch band of brothers and play halo or other FPS and get a high with it- shungoh

Break-in for HD800's?
well the sigs of these phones should change after like 100 hours or so from the initial "new metallic" sound.. but any longer than that i am sceptic... but they sure sound good!- shungoh

Yet another thread asking for advice...
If you are unable to find or commission an amp in your place and listen to many vocal tracks i suggest you should get the MS2... Buying an amp from overseas and getting is shipped will cost you insane amounts of money.. unless you get those portable amps with DAC in it.. but i personally feel...- shungoh

Fake ATH-ESW-9? (56K warning!)
i don think pirates would make fake esw9s. cos it would be too much of a hassle for them they would target more popular and cheap to make stuff... like how sennheiser cx300 cx500 fakes are being sold worldwide and many people are snapping them up...- shungoh

i own both... but i gotta tell you... ESW9... this baby's a real looker with great sound sadly noise isolation isnt as good as ie8... but if you don mind it (like me) ESW9 for you- shungoh

Limited, wooden portable ATH-ESW10JPN arrives! (with pics)
i think its perfect for people who want a "hybrid" between a full sized headphone and iem its a real looker.. but doesnt pack as enough punch as a full sized can, nor does it have as much isolation as an iem- shungoh

In defense of Skullcandy headphones!
skullcandies definitely look good when its inside its box... but when you take them out to wear them on the train.... ......... eh... those weird looks given to you by the rest of the passengers will be enough to keep those and sell them off call me boring but i rather prefer my ie8...- shungoh

from experience... you shouldnt really be spending more than $100 plus on an LOD.. as the difference is minimal.. if you want.. better alternatives are. 1) saving your music files in lossless formats.. eg WAV ,apple lossless, Flac ... mp3 doesnt cut it even at "high" 2) get a decent amp...- shungoh
