    Grado RA1 Battery Version

I've been considering buying an RA1 amp to pair up with my beloved RS1 headphones. I'm watching one on ebay which ends on Sunday 8th but I noticed it's the battery powered version. Am I better to wait for the AC powered amp to come up, is there no difference between the two, or should I be...

Help me decide between Rs-1i or HD650!

I went the same route trading up to RS1's from 225's. If you love the Grado sound the RS1 does everything the 225 does, but just that bit better. Sounds best to me with tape modded bowls - listening to Rammstein right now - just awesome. RS1's do acoustic/electric guitar beautifully.

    Grado GS1000i vs Sennheiser HD800

Just spotted in this month's What Hifi magazine ( UK ) a head to head battle of these two high end headphones. Thought I would post to let you know the outcome and throw in some comments from the magazine for those who haven't seen it. The Grado came out on top with 5 stars ( out of 5 ) and the...

    My RS-1 vs. RS-2 experience

Analogbox - I took the route sr60-sr225-RS1. The RS1 is indeed a natural progression from the 225 although not such a massive improvement as 225's are to the 60's. What I like about the RS1 is the improved build quality, the beauty of the wood, and the non-stop smile these things put on my face...

Classifying versions of the RS1: Your Guide (Work in Progress)

I've posted some photo's for you Mercuttio to help decide my version. As you can hopefully see - Black headband, square rods with plastic ends, circular cutout, text going 3/4 way round the cups, silver L/R, white drivers/mesh, no serial number. BTW Rhinosaur, I was watching the same pair on...

Classifying versions of the RS1: Your Guide (Work in Progress)

Ok - so now I'm confused. No box unfortunately - my Ebay purchase came posted in a Grado hard headphone case. The drivers don't appear to be pink but I'll get some decent photos on here tomorrow when I get some daylight.

Classifying versions of the RS1: Your Guide (Work in Progress)

Great work Mercuttio, I've been waiting for a post like this. Mine have no serial number, black headband, silver L and R, and the bowl pads were like glued on when I removed them to replace. I had to clean the wood up a bit after removing the pads as it left traces behind. I'm guessing I have a...

    RS-1 Appreciation Thread starts here!!!!

No- can't find a serial number on mine. No big deal - as long as I've got my RS-1's I'm gonna be happy.

    RS-1 Appreciation Thread starts here!!!!

Just wanted to add my comments to this thread. Only had my 225's since last December when the upgrade bug caught me. Got a good deal on some RS-1's on Ebay and they arrived today. All I can say is Wow- straight away I'm getting a fuller, deeper, more revealing sound than the 225's and the...

Will I be disappointed with the SR225 for electronic, trance, hip-hop, etc?

The new Prodigy album sounds incredible through my 225's - I have done the taped bowl mod to increase the bass. Track 2 'Omen' is a great track to compare headphones to - the difference between the sr60 and the 225 is big.

    Sr225's for £150 at play.com (UK)

I see they are only £10 more than the 125's as well

Good price (for UK). Go for it - you certainly won't regret the upgrade.

    SR-60 woodied or SR-225?

I own both sr60 and sr225. Having spent time extensively comparing the two I can honestly say the 225's destroy the 60's in all areas. Bigger soundstage, bigger bass, bigger everything. Only makes me wonder what higher up models sound like.

    Grado SR225 Thread

Just thought I'd add Bullseye - have you tried the tape mod on your bowls? I tried it today and will be sticking with it. Bass is definitely improved ( tested with some Prodigy tracks ) and for some reason I have noticed a ( very slight ) improvement in comfort. The tape easily removes without...

    Grado SR225 Thread

Like yourself Bullseye I just got my 225's- picked mine up on December 23rd. Before that I've used sr60's for a few years but finally made the move to upgrade after finding this site. Still running them in obviously but love the sound so far. Recently got a Pro-ject amp for my home set up as I'm...
