E-MU Wooden Series Headphones
Anybody have thoughts on the E-MUs vs the Focal Elear? Seems both headphones emphasize lows and they're both easy to drive. I have no doubt the E-MUs are a better value at half the price. But you can find the Elears in great condition for $550 used, which is only $50 off from the E-MUs. Thoughts?- tim0chen

Yamaha EPH-100
Excellent post, Gandasaputra. I almost went for the DN-1000s for a possible upgrade but you know what, you're right. I like the Yamahas so much that there's little to gain by fooling around with other options. Already ordered a new pair. Thanks for the help!- tim0chen

Yamaha EPH-100
After 3 amazing years, my EPH-100 finally bit the dust. There's something loose in the Y-split housing as the left earbud won't play sound unless I hold the cable coming out of the Y in a perfect position. Does this sound fixable? If not, I love these earbuds so I'm probably going to grab...- tim0chen

Ultrasone HFI780 ALO Mod
When I first received my 780s, the clamping force was indeed quite extreme. I let the headphones stretch out over a box and it's no longer a problem.- tim0chen

Audioengine 5 question for A5 owners
Haha weird, I just noticed that after you pointed it out. But ya, there's definitely an imbalance w/ the right speaker louder at very low volumes. I'm not worried though because the volume is much lower than what I usually listen at. -

Quick, super basic questions about 0404
Ok so these are some super basic questions, and I feel kind of bad posting a thread about something so simple, but... 1) If I have speakers, I'm supposed to plug them into the jack underneath '1 Main' on the back, right? 2) If I want to connect my Predator to the 0404, I should use a mini...- tim0chen

ALO HFI-780: My thoughts
Number1, Out of curiosity, for how long did you burn in your ALO-780s for before selling them? Also, do you think the Jenalabs cable is suitable for transport in backpack and some portable listening (ie on a plane)? Thanks in advance!- tim0chen

So what's the word on the new Ultrasone HFI-780????
The APS v3 seem flexible and appropriate for a portable headphone... what about the Jenalabs cable? It looks really beefy, but is it feasible for transporting in a backpack or portable listening ie on a plane?- tim0chen

I have $250 to spend on 2.0 computer speakers. Help me spend it.
Wow those really are tiny compared to my A5s. And I'm gathering from this thread that my A5s would sound better through my 0404 then a headphone amp, rather than straight out of the 0404?- tim0chen

Using headphones, 2.0 speakers, and 5.1 speakers - how will this work?
Actually, during my recent head-fi researching frenzy, I learned that some portable amps come with DACs (common knowledge, I know). Even though they're designed for headphones, can the DAC on a Pico drive the Audioengine A5s as well as the 0404? What I want to know is: is there any reason...- tim0chen
