foobar2000 v0.9.1 released
Hello, A dumb question: how do I know if I need ASIO4ALL when using Foobar2000 v0.9.1 with the foo_out_asio.dll component? For example, I'm using an M-Audio Firewire Audiophile (I have other cards, but this is what I have connected to my desktop speakers) and everything seems to work as...- bryman79

Adding Coaxial S/PDIF To The M-Audio Transit
Garbz, They added the diode going from rev. F (the one I just received) to rev. G (the one you see in the pics). Regards, Bryan- bryman79

Adding Coaxial S/PDIF To The M-Audio Transit
Any idea what D1's purpose is? I just received the next Transit to mod... it's a rev. F, with the only noticeable difference being the diode. Thanks, Bryan- bryman79

Adding Coaxial S/PDIF To The M-Audio Transit
Garbz, From what I hear, a new PSU improves sound. I'm planning on using a Jung dropped to 5V on my new one... Also, I was planning to use a Tent XO3 on the new one as well. From my reading of the datasheet, you can simply disconnect the 24.576MHz clock from the TAS1020A and insert a new...- bryman79

Plastic RCA Connector - Eichmann Alternatives?
Actually the $38 was from Welbourne for the Bullets. It looks like Partsconnexion has the Bullets for $36 and the Basis for $27. BTW, why doesn't Eichmann list/describe the Basis on their site? Regards, Bryan- bryman79

Plastic RCA Connector - Eichmann Alternatives?
Who sells the Basis plugs cheap? I think the bullets go for $38 per set of 4. They are ugly as sin, but they are the only ones made of plastic... Thanks, Bryan- bryman79

Plastic RCA Connector - Eichmann Alternatives?
Maybe I should have clarified. I want the part that grips the shield (ground) to be plastic... like the Eichmanns. Quote: Originally Posted by firefox360 Well umm.. I'm guessing Radio Shack might sell a few? Can you provide a link? Quote: Originally Posted by...- bryman79

Buying parts?, San Jose - South Bay area?
Dan pretty much summarized it... I usually go to HSC (Halted) near Central Expressway or Excess Solutions on Brokaw near Frys. ES seems to have more mechanical-type items (e.g., cable tie-downs, rubber feet, small heatsinks, etc.). Also note that there is a bunch of stuff overhead at ES that...- bryman79

suggestions for the digital out to connect the Benchmark DAC1?
Dip16amp, Since you refuse to listen to theory, I suggest you let your ears be the judge. Where in CA are you? You are welcome to A/B the coaxial and optical inputs to the DAC1 fed by my Transit... see here: http://www6.head-fi.org/forums/showthread.php?t=131150 As I mentioned in that...- bryman79

Have a Dremel, what bits to buy?
This is getting a bit O/T, but so are the last few posts, so why not... If you have access to a drill press, the most valuable tool you can purchase is a center drill (KEO if possible... EBay has quite a few). Use calipers to scribe an X at the desired location (a $15 set from i.e. Harbor...- bryman79

Cheap Isolated RCA Bulkheads Needed - HELP!
Hello All, I need to source roughly 10 pair of cheap (i.e. under $3 a pair), isolated RCA bulkheads. The jacks must be well-made... i.e. make good connection to the center conductor. I want to skip all the gold-plated crap, because the coating on most RCA bulkheads, like Cardas to name one...- bryman79

Oh god I am dum & need help with A47 parts list!
If you have the drive and money to build a Dynalo, I'd say go for it. It is probably the best bang for your buck. That being said, I haven't listened to the M3 in great detail, nor do I know how much it cost to build... hopefully I will experience both in the near future. So the M3 may be a...- bryman79

DIY etching with Press N Peel
It wouldn't hurt to read through that link I mentioned in my previous post... the time, pressure applied, and temperature are functions of the board size used. DIY etching with Press N Peel
Rob, I posted my experience with toner transfer here: http://www6.head-fi.org/forums/showp...4&postcount=24. You can control toner flow by regulating heat and pressure with the iron. If you don't like it, then remove the toner with acetone or MEK and reapply. It's that easy... Regards, Bryan- bryman79
