Need a budget cdp for home setup

I'm looking at building a small/simple/inexpensive home setup and was wondering what my options were. I was thinking about going with a DVD player, but I have not heard too many. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I really wouldn't like to spend more than $100-$200 on the source for...

Need an amp for home setup

I've been out of the loop for a while now and was considering building a small, simple, and fairly inexpensive home setup. The headphones I will be using will primarily be my SR-60s and occaisoinally my HD570's or HD280pro's. Who knows, I might consider getting a new set of cans for use with...

    Gaming/Music headphones!

Indeed, all the headphones you listed require and amp. If you aren't going to spring for an amp, might I recommend the HD280pros for gaming. They are quite nice.

    Velour pads + Washing Machine = ?

I don't think I will need the dryer. I technically won't need these dirty pads for a good two years or so, so needless to say I can give them some time to dry. Tommorrow I'll give them a shot with the woollite.

    Velour pads + Washing Machine = ?

I've got some of that lying around, I'll try that. Thanks for your suggestions.

    Velour pads + Washing Machine = ?

I'm wondering if it's safe to wash my old and nasty HD570 velour pads. Call me cheap, but I really don't feel like spending $25 every two years just cause of how hot it gets during the summer. And if you can't throw them in the washing machine, is there another alternative or am I going to have...

Looking for good headphones for computer use

From what I've heard the 125's are pretty good, but the 225's are the de facto for metal cans (again, from what I've heard). In my personal experience, however, if it's isolating cans you're looking for, I would go with the Sennheiser HD280pro's. They clamp a bit on the tight side, but over...

Sennheiser or Grado (for this taste)?

Of the artists you listed it sounds like the HD650 might be more to your liking. However you also said that you like every other type of music except for rap. I have never personally heard the HD650s however I do know that the Grado line is rather versetile when it comes to different genres.

    The GRADO SR-60 Impressions Thread

I know this thread is old and all but, I just got my iPod and all I have to say is, I won't be buying any more audio equipment for quite some time now. iPod + SR60 = pure heaven

Need suggestions: iPod vs. iRiver HDD players

Well I went to Best Buy today and took the plunge on the iPod 20GB. Preliminary tests have shown that I will not be dissapointed with it. It sounds good with the Grados on a few songs that I've tried and I'm really enjoying what I hear so far. I'm going to just let it finish charging overnight...

Need suggestions: iPod vs. iRiver HDD players

Ok, so I'm in the market for a new mp3 player and was originally just going to get an iPod, but my Dad being in constant disagreement with me is suggesting that I get the iRiver H10. I pretty much have my mind made up, but I thought I would ask some of the more knowledgable users on this forum...

    280HDs, V6s, Closed-Cans, and Confusion

1.) The 280pros are pretty durable. Some say that the headband is flimsy, but I have had no problems whatsoever with mine. 2.) The 280's bass is sort of a mixed bag. The bass is very deep, tight, and defined. However, it lacks impact. If you could somehow EQ the bass up, you would be fine...

    Need some new gaming cans

I personally use the 280s for gaming and would have to recommend those. If you are looking for open, then I would say the HD590,555.

    A900 blu-tak mod pics

Do you think you could post pics of how you would do your HD280pro's? I read your thread a while ago and was curious, but it would be awesome to see some pics of what to do.

    ATH a900, a700, a500....for gaming?

If it's gaming mainly, then I would go with the A500. You really aren't going to notice/care about the small differences between the two. Especially if you are doing some fps gaming. The only thing you really need for gaming is good and accurate soundstage, clarity to the point where it sounds...

    The GRADO SR-60 Impressions Thread

The quarter mod is where you take the stock "comfy" pads and place a quarter in the center of the pad and cut a hole around it. It simulates the same effect that the flat pads give you.

if i wanna try a pair of grados...

Well the SR60s would be good and cheap to see if you like the Grado sound. But if you're willing to spend more $$$, then I hear the SR225s are simply awesome for rock.
