Ultrasone Proline 650 (A look at the inside)

wouldn't you all like to see what's inside the ultrasone proline 650? i got some pics here that reveal the displacement of the drivers. notice they are not at the center of the housing like most headphones. this special feature, better known in technical terms as S-Logic Natural Surround Sound...

    About Sennheiser HD650

oh hells yeah, you'll get to enjoy your HD650s right out of the box. my common sense says don't just admire these incredible headphones for their sound; the texture, the color, the movement in the streamline deisgn, the curvature of the head band, the excellent built quality, the doped-out...

damn with all these peeps owning multiple headphones i gotta expand my inventory and then when i get my income tax report i'll pull the trigger myself.

Should I give up on Grado already?

if they only make a grado sounding heaphone with all the comforts of say a senn or a AKG...then it'd be paradise! i got rid of the black factory sandpaper donuts of doom and took on the HD414 pads--more comfortable.

    Sony MDR-V6 = MDR-7506?

sony MDRs aren't nearly as capable handling high frequencies and overall coherency as other cans mentioned here. Sonys are somewhat sloppy. good for video production guys, but audiophiles look elsewhere. dats my 2 cents.

    Audio Technica or Grados?

$70 you can get yourself the grado SR-80. i see it at that price range new. never heard the SR-60s, but have owned the SR-80 and for me it's definitely one of the best headphone investments i've ever made. the day i bought it i also got the sony MDR-7506 for comparison. the grado kicked sony's...

    Need to decide between HD595 - HD650

650 will do the job and you can add to it later when you get the dole. start with the best straight away. it doesn't make much sense to spent what you have now and get the 595...then safe...and then get the 650...you will then have 2 headphones and still without amp.

Wanting a major upgrade in sound. Are headphones what I want next?

"improved grado-style sound"...i can think of ultrasone proline 750 or the 2500. they have the sense of urgency and excitement, something grados are also known 2 have. plus a bigger spacious soundstage, at this grados can't touch. they're relatively easy to drive just like grados. definite sonic...

    DT770 vs Grado 325i

i got the grado 325i with the HD414 yellow pads and damn son! comfortable?--damn son again! better than the factory black donuts of doom. and it somehow smoothed out the sometimes fatiguing highs a bit--damn son again and again!

Sennheiser HD-650 with Cardas High Maintenance

hey peeps i'm back with another tale of romance with the HD650, but this time i got the legendary cardas cable upgrade. so i wanna share my first impressions. the old stock cable wasn't bad, it was tough built and had a kind of lo-tech airline look to it. the reason i wanted to get the...

    Good Closed Cans for isolation??

anybody ever heard of Soundstage headphones? super duper isolation...and as far as my knowledge goes they're like those constructon worker's headset when they use the jack hammer but with doped up drivers for clean sound. however, if isolation and full size are your goal these will deliver. the...

What is a good set for tracking?

many a-times peeps complain of noise bleeding from the headphones to the mic during tracking sessions. even with some closed headphones music can still creep out. what do you recommend as a good pair of cans for recording sessions? would noise cancellation headphones work inside out also?
