I've been wondering a lot about this recently - in the Grado world, it seems that metal-wood hybrid > wood > metal > plastic, at least in regards to price and perceived luxury. Does this have any real correspondence with SQ?   String instruments are made with wood and brass instruments...

Do you have balanced headphones? If so, which ones?   Not yet.   If not, are you looking at balanced headphones or a balanced amp in the future?   Yup.   For a balanced amp, how important is it to also have single-ended outputs?   Not important - I have other amps for that.

I have used the 250ohm version with iPod - you need to turn the volume up all the way. Either buy 32ohm version or get an amp.      

I work out and jog with my KSC75 - awesome fit, no sweat problems, no microphonics, durable, and cheap.  

I used to have all FLAC, but I converted everything to 320kbps MP3 once I realized I couldn't tell a difference even on my DT880s

Are you guys serious? I found the RX700 muddy, colored and bassy - even when modded.

I listen to punk/prog/electro-rock as well as some more mainstream/alternative rock, and all I can say is that that's the main reason I keep my Grados around. While my other headphones may be "higher-fi", something about Grados+rock synergy keep pulling me back to them...   Quote:

Haven't heard DX700, but...   You can buy SR225(i) used for a good deal less than $256, possibly even $150 if you look hard enough and don't care whether it's the i or non-i version (there's minor SQ difference). And yes, there are people who do ship international.

This happened to me before. This means that the metallic diaphragm is dented (I was trying out some mods...). Nothing you can really do except use your lifetime warranty to get a replacement from Koss.
