Bowers & Wilkins PX Noise-Cancelling Over-ears
Its a tricky trade-off between ANC and sound quality. I guess we don't have a can that can excel at both. Looks to me like Bose is better on the ANC front and this PX should be better on the SQ front. When I am on a plane, if the background noise is high, great sound quality doesn't help much...- rvikul

Bowers & Wilkins PX Noise-Cancelling Over-ears
hi Munchkinham, Can you please elaborate a bit on the ANC comparison with Bose? Which Bose model did you compare with and in what environment? I just recently purchased the new Bose QC35 II. I have other cans for quiet room listening, but I bought the Bose primarily for air/train travel so ANC...- rvikul

Chord Hugo
Your response is out of context. I did not ask if HUGO ships with a fancy cable nor do I want it to. What your Audeze ships with is irrelevant. A USB cable for a USB DAC is not an accessory and a properly designed DAC should be agnostic of the USB cable as long as said cable is built to spec. ...- rvikul

Did Mr. Watts reply to this? I see mention of RFI but no mention of how the HUGO is designed to handle it. Will a bog standard USB cable into the HD input of the HUGO produce the best possible output from the HUGO?- rvikul

K701 thread
I dont think the forum admins are behind it per se. Its a difficult task being a moderator. You have to strike a fine balance. Back to appreciating the K701s... I really feel the bass is much iimproved since the time i got these headphones. I probably have around 500 hours on these now...- rvikul

Spanking new AKG K702 burn-in and bass
I would be surprised if the OP is still following this thread. babyoh if you are still reading this, here is my recommendation - ignore this thread! There are many other threads discussing the K701s. This one has turned nasty. Us head-fiers are crazy folks. We probably wouldn't fight over...- rvikul

K701 thread
I've been listening to a lot of classical lately too. Violin concertos (specifically Anne Sophie Mutter's Mozart) sound fabulous. I can tell because I have been to several live concerts. I am not saying they sound as good as a live concert of course. For a portable rig with a tiny amp, this...- rvikul

Seriously though, the p-51 mustang does drive the K701s quite effectively and makes them sound great. It was surprising to me initially as well but hearing is believing. From the man himself: Quote: Yes it can drive the 701 to a great listening levels & can add the warmth that the...- rvikul

What is all this nonsense about K701s having good bass? I am listening to them right now. The K701s have no bass, no treble and no mid-range. That is a fact and is not subjective opinion. So all you K701 lovers can go to hell. Oh crap, my Zune was turned off all this time.- rvikul

Sigh... i was only objecting to statements like "they have no bass". That does not make me a fanboy. Yes, the K701s are a bit bass-shy with the equipment i have (portable amp) but the bass is there. When I am listening to hip-hop recordings with heavy bass for instance, the K701s dont really...- rvikul
