Purrin, in reference to your amp lineup, where would you place the Apex Teton which some claim is a step above the EC 4-45 (within that price range)? I'm seriously considering it.   

For me, I treat cables as another component in the reproduction chain, along with isolation, and dampening (in the case of tubed amplification), and balanced power, amongst others, in the same camp.   I agree, the stock cable really is pretty decent. If you needed to replace the stock cable...

I'm not sure it's an apples to apples comparison re AP + IFI vs. the AP + PP since there are internal mods Phil applies. The difference with the PP is substantial to my ears. If you can afford it, it's a very worthwhile update.   

I received my WyWire Red Headphone cables about two weeks ago, and they've been settling in. Alex was great to work with. I've done quite a bit of DIY and had some wonderful Furutech CF-H800(R) connectors sitting around. Alex gladly used them for my cables, and adjusted the pricing accordingly...

Oh, on USB cables? It made a difference for me, and I still love my Wire World Platinum Starlight USB cable. It's smooth and neutral (which is probably how my system as a whole sounds).

I've experienced something similar a couple of times. I went through the PP interface to reset the device. Is that what you did? Are you still using the Vaunix? Any reflections/observations with or without?  Quote:

So, both the PP and the AP are current? PP firmware should be v1.9, the AP firmware should be 1.2? If you are current with those, then there's something wrong. Call Phillip.    I'm a Mac user, so no drivers necessary. 

Check that the firmware is current via the menu. Should be v1.9. This is a know issue with previous versions of the firmware.    EDIT: Mine did the same thing on an earlier version of the firmware.  Quote:
