One more thing I forgot to mention - the HDP is way way way smaller which could be a concern for many (it is for my coworker).

My e5's don't hiss with my Ipod but do with my laptop. As someone mentioned earlier, try ordering the Shure Inline volume attenuator as this is exactly what it was designed for (as far as I can tell). I use it and have NO hiss.

I bought mine in an airport at one of those places where you can rent dvd's for like 10$. Pretty damn convenient since I was already there anyway. They actually sell e5c's as well but don't sell the tri-flange so I'm still looking to pick some of those up.

These headphones really require some burn in. Let them burn in overnight for a few days and then let us know what you think after that.
