Thanks so much for the help, tomb. The problem is indeed with the output on my DAC. I was using a second output on the DAC for another amp and it didn't occur to me that the output jack I was using on the DAC was just as likely to have gone as the input jack on the amp. I'll try troubleshooting...

Thanks very much for the response, tomb. I'm measuring 27V for the power supply (V+ to ground), 13.5V for each tube bias (TA2L/R to ground), and 75mV for each DB bias (TB1L/R to TA2L/R). I think the problem is probably in the signal path somewhere, particularly the 1/8'' input jack I'm using...

Hi all,   I was hoping to get some help troubleshooting my Millett Max. It's been working beautifully for years now, but I recently started losing sound. It started with a buzzing through the 1/8'' jack, then I lost all sound through that jack, and now I don't seem to be getting anything...

I believe my voltage problem was due to a bad soldering joint on pin 2 or 3 of u2.   I just wanted to say thanks to amb and MisterX for another great project.   edit: I think this dac should come with a disclaimer, as I have not been able to stop listening to music since getting it to work.

I believe it says PHUI, though I imagine that's not of much help. The packaging indicates 3.3V.

Sorry about that. The only camera I have at the moment is on my camera, and I'm still trying to figure out how to upload to my computer. Someone forgot to mention that in the 200 page manual. 

I probably shouldn't have posted the above just before the holidays. Is replacing U2 a decent approach or way off base? The continuity at each pins seems fine, so I'm not sure what the problem might be, but I'm also not sure where else to look. Thanks!

I re-terminated my Kramer-modded Marshmallows with a $3.00 silver connecter from radioshack because I lost sound in one of the channels. I think I've noticed a pretty substantial improvement, but perhaps it's all in my head . Anyone else have experience with rewiring these?

There's a comparison chart on page 20. Looks like the HD800 scores half a star higher for comfort, with the T1 equaling or surpassing the HD800 in the other categories, for whatever that is worth. Quite a lengthy article; I guess they take headphones pretty seriously in Germany!
