The atrio m5s are RIDICULOUSLY awesome with bass in comparison to the Shures, Cx-300, and ER. They give you head-rattling feeling of a concert, or the floor-shaking feeling of a club.

I've actually found that higher end (just better than ratchack) is somewhat worth it based on build quality. Those little cheap gray ones die by the dozens for portable use, so in the end, it would have been wiser (at least for me) to have gotten a better one to begin with.

I pair my er4s with a xin supermacro. It's great, because it has an impedance switch and a bass boost one, too.

the shures are about twice the size of the er-6i's. I couldn't get the superfis to stay in my ear(they were too big, or funky shaped), so that may not be your best choice either.

I use the ety er-4p's. The stock ones aren't bad, though. Amping helps a lot out of the dock, but out of the headphone jack, I haven't really bothered.
