Is winamp no good?
Quote: Nothing is immune to jitter. Buffering doesn't eliminate it. There are many sources of jitter all contributing to the total system jitter. According to this article, the buffer itself can add jitter: http://www.positive-feedback.com/Issue43/jitter.htm- paquiem

M2 Tech Hiface, V-Link or Audio_Gd DI - Which should I buy???
I'm also thinking about buying a USB to spdif converter. I think I'm going to go with the Audiophilleo 1. It is in a different price class but has gotten very good reviews and has a 30-days return policy. I'm also very keen on hearing the artificial jitter feature to really find out what jitter...- paquiem

Is winamp no good?
Quote: By bit-perfect I mean the sound information reaching your hardware (soundcard or exterrnal dac) just as it is in the original recording. In other words it is not affected by the player software, Windows or any EQ which you seem to be using. ASIO can be used to create a direct route...- paquiem

Is winamp no good?

Is winamp no good?
If you notice differences between players then at least one of them isn't sending bit perfect data to the dac/soundcard. Players can't cause/reduce jitter can they?- paquiem

signature
It's a little misleading that you can edit the source of the signature but it only works with some things such as <br />. Tried changing fonts and colors. I think it really isn't a good thing that the font, font size and color are exactly the same on posts and on signatures.- paquiem

New Audio GD DAC coming designed for ROC
These converters that two previous posters have suggested are still kind of like using USB to connect the computer to the DAC. You still would be plugging something with USB to your computer. There would be a benefit of getting 24/96 support but is that something to pay for that is the question...- paquiem

Problem sorta with my Ultrasone 750 Cord
I had a similar experience and it was all because the mini plug wasn't all the way in the headphones. It looked like it was but it wasn't. I think it would be best for you to buy that adapter because in my opinion you really need the cord securely screwed in the headphones. Also if lacking bass...- paquiem

Ultrasone Pro900 ... Thank you Mr. Kees !
Ultrasone have tuned the 900 by covering two of the five holes on the metallic cover. Bass/Treble balance is altered depending on which holes are covered. You can adjust the bass quantity by covering 1-4 of the tiny holes on the back of the drivers. By covering 3/4 of them you can make the 900's...- paquiem

Looking for a good Usb DAC/Amp combo for Ultrasone
I really like my Pro 900 + Predator combo. Very smooth with lots of impact. I like them for laid back, fun listening and wouldn't personally want to master/mix anything with them. That is because of the bass emphasis that they have IMO. If I were the OP I would be looking in the Audio-GD FUN...- paquiem

Ultrasone nightmares
I thought I'd share my Ultrasone nightmare here too. I bought my pair of Pro 900 second hand and when I first listened to them they sounded mismatched between channels. I knew that the other driver was replaced by a licensed Ultrasone dealer in Finland. Opening them up revealed that the...- paquiem

GS1000i for me or not? A bit confused
I spent a week with GS1000 with SAA Equinox recable. I only listen to metal and rock and I really didn't like them at all. If you like how the prestige series presents guitars very up front that is not the case with GS1000. IMO they have recessed mids. Also for me the bass was way too boomy...- paquiem
