So I got a Clip today...
Wow. The sound quality is fantastic, FLAC support was available right out of the box, and it has enough power to drive my SR80s to more than adequate volumes without distortion. I got the 4GB one for $50. Dollar for dollar, this player beats anything I've seen before.- Z4N5H1N

Sansa question!
I think the e200 series that you guys are talking about is the one they have there, not the Fuze. Since it apparently doesn't play FLAC, it looks like the Clip will be the way to go. The SD slot would have been nice, but that's really the only thing the e200 has over the Clip. And for me, no...- Z4N5H1N

Sansa question!
Hi headfi'ers, A store near me is selling Sansa Clips, as well as another Sansa player (I believe it's either an e230 or an e260, but I can't quite remember.) Whatever it is, it's larger than the clip, 4GB, and it's shiny black. They are selling both of these players for the same price...- Z4N5H1N

Need help picking 1st set of cans
Grado SR-125s are within your budget. I listen to a decent amount of hip-hop on my SR-80s, and they sound quite good, even without an amp. On a side note, though, I've heard nothing but bad things about Little Dot amps. Perhaps choose a different amp; there's lots of different brands out...- Z4N5H1N

UPDATED 2/22 REVIEW 13 USB DAC amp - Predator, Pico, 2/3MOVE, D10 D3 D2 Viper/Boa D1, Lyrix, MicroAmp, Vivid V1, Nuforce, XM5
Sounds like it should be a good match for my SR-80s, then, yeah?- Z4N5H1N

UPDATED 2/22 REVIEW 13 USB DAC amp - Predator, Pico, 2/3MOVE, D10 D3 D2 Viper/Boa D1, Lyrix, MicroAmp, Vivid V1, Nuforce, XM5
From the review, it looks like the Lyrix is pretty solid if used purely as an analog amp. So long as the DAC is not used, it's quite a nice sounding amp?- Z4N5H1N

I have a noob question.
This thread has been super-useful. This means I can just get a straight-up headphone amp, with no built-in DAC, which I'm sure will be cheaper. Also, I had no idea the LOD was even capable of analog-out. The only thing I've previously used it for is syncing, which is obviously digital, so I...- Z4N5H1N

Is WAV worth it?
FLAC is your friend. I'm not sure about your player, but a lot of players don't support FLAC. There's an app called RockBox that replaces you firmware and lets you play FLAC and Ogg Vorbis. I'd look into to it. It worked for my iPod 5g. Rockbox - Open Source Jukebox Firmware- Z4N5H1N

I have a noob question.
...so the crappy internal DAC already mangled the single before it reached the LOD? Even though the LOD jack is digital? I'm missing something. Also, in regards to the quality loss when ripping...I use EAC to rip stuff, and I rip into FLAC...I think EAC has some sort of error...- Z4N5H1N

I have a noob question.
Hi Head-fi, When you use the digital iPod jack (not the 3.5mm one, the one on the bottom), and then hook up an interconnect that runs from that jack into a 3.5mm on the other end...is it still digital on the 3.5mm end? Does this mean that I can use one of the aforementioned interconnects to...- Z4N5H1N
