SQ showdown: Sansa Clip vs. Sony S638F

well Sony (S739) just got few more points vs Fuze (Clip) and they are now at the same level . Why? Sony supports WAV tags (from dbpoweramp LIST&ID3) and plays WAV files perfectly. Unlike Sony, Fuze (Clip) treats WAV tags as noise and doesn't recognize them... also it has hick-ups when...

does your s639 have a clear bass setting?

go to equalizer and there it is. in custom 1&2 you can set the level of it per your taste. on presets it is already set (differently for each preset). edit: to clear it up it is not standolne setting that you turn on or off, but part of eq where you define level 0123. -velimir

here is zip download: Download LAME MP3 Encoder 3.98.2 : LAME MP3 Encoder is the best mp3 encoder you probably downloaded source code or something... just unzip it to some folder and point EAC to lame.exe in that folder... I think, but may be wrong that EAC already has Lame built in...

anyone has minior problems with playing WAV files on Fuze like ocassional hickups (short breaks, like once every song)? and also dbpoweramp seems to write Tags to WAV files (according to them it is perfectly OK) and seems Fuze interprets them as 1sec noise before each song !? and wow...

    Why lossless on portables?

well here is my limited experience with FLAC vs MP3 vs OGG VORBIS: I just got myself a new Sansa Fuze and Westone UM2 and used dbpoweramp to rip a CD to FLAC, MP3(LAME 320kbps) and OV(aotuv 500kbps). FLACs sound great, but first of all seems like Fuze is having some issues playing them as...

Finally got my own Fuze. Unfortunately it is blueish and only 4GB, but fortunately it doesn't have an issue with my Westone UM2 unlike the other one I tested (Black, 8GB). As I couldn't basically open and test every Fuze to see if they have headphone jack issue I chose the one in the new nice...

OK. So the Fuze sounds wonderful out of the box. no EQ just music. guitars sounds great, bass and drums also. voice is present enough. cymbals are great. I am listening on Westone UM2. I own Sony S739 and it sounds different. Also very good, but from what I heard in last few minutes that is...
