OK, this menu entry has to be changed too and doesn't exit on the japan player.

This is strange, I have the german version and one from japan. The german version does it like described, the japan version has a fixed lineout. Maybe You can check the streaming offered on the player? My player from japan does not have Tidal.

You will have to activate line out on EU version. This doesn't activate a fixed line out only increases output power.

Nice, I had the same problem, drives me crazy, in the end I used a sharp knife carefully at one edge, then it works.

At the moment I can compare japanese and german version (xdp30r). On the german player you can activate variable lineout (as introduced with xdp 100r). After that output power seems equal to me (I can not measure it).

Using UAPP and switching to AGC-Mode an back the volume does the same as with the stock player, so maybe, ESS ist used?

I have over 30 GB AAC--Files on my phone, all with m4a-extension and everything works fine in can opener.   How do You generate Your files?   Maybe something wrong in the file header?
