Multi-Custom In-Ear Monitor Review, Resource, Mfg List & Discussion (Check first post for review links & information)

I am still working out the details, and will make an announcement when the time is right.  Also, your interest is noted!     Ah, so the price has now been posted (and discussion ensued).

Multi-Custom In-Ear Monitor Review, Resource, Mfg List & Discussion (Check first post for review links & information)

After a long absence from head-fi due to time limitations, I wanted to share a few items: My review of the Custom Art Harmony 8 Pro has been posted for those that missed it. I am listening to several demo units from Advanced AcousticWerks as well as the W500 AHMorph.  A write-up is in the...

New AAW W500-AHMorph hybrid CIEM goes from a mid-centric BA only sound to a slight V-shaped hybrid sound.  Link to more info in the AAW thread.

Information on the all new W500.   I should have some products to listen to in the near future...

I also haven't heard sibilant treble, but compared with others such as the Viento-R, SE5, Fit Ear PS-5, and BD4.2 for example, it seems a bit on the sharper/harsher side.  I have been listening to the H8P a lot for the upcoming review, and the treble quality is similar to the EM32.  Without...

19 custom IEM/TF10/Shure/IE8 cables reviewed (Effect Pearl, Apollo, & Odin added 3/20/13)

I haven't noticed an issue with the Viablue plugs.     My SE5 needs longer pins, so most aftermarket cables don't work well with it, but here are the ones that have fit.  My bias for the NT-6 can be found here, and in general I like the TWau, which was reviewed here.  The Oslo cable I...

    Perfect Seal Custom in-ear monitors

Nice, someone else is enjoying the Fusion 11!  It offers an amazing value since while it doesn't quite perform at the level of the top tier CIEMs, it certainly doesn't sound horrible in comparison for less than half the price.  Knowing the sound of the Westone 1, I know just how huge of a step...

With the amount of power flowing through the cable, how much is capacitance really affecting the cable?  I suppose it is a possibility.   I guess I need to hear a better demo.  However, I wonder how much different it will be than the PP6.     Thanks for the summary!

Multi-Custom In-Ear Monitor Review, Resource, Mfg List & Discussion (Check first post for review links & information)

Not currently.  It would take too much work at this time, especially since I am in process of several other reviews.  In due time...     My ranking holds equal weight for many characteristics such as transparency, coherence, imaging, detail, resolution, imaging, soundstage...

Multi-Custom In-Ear Monitor Review, Resource, Mfg List & Discussion (Check first post for review links & information)

The LUF version with triple flange tips scored quite well preliminarily...a bit better than the S-EM6 overall.  Of course, I still have much more to do in time.    Ported and vented are pretty much the same, but the driver type can make a difference.  For example, the Viento-R uses all...

Multi-Custom In-Ear Monitor Review, Resource, Mfg List & Discussion (Check first post for review links & information)

Not for a while, possibly early next year.  I can PM you with more info.  I will say it is very tip dependent and with Comply tips it changes the soundstage presentation resulting in an artificial and disproportionate sound.     Yes, this one is similar to something like the PP6 and...

Multi-Custom In-Ear Monitor Review, Resource, Mfg List & Discussion (Check first post for review links & information)

Very very nice, thanks for sharing!   So, the IERM fits better?  I wonder if that plays into the SQ at all.       To me it seems the larger manufacturers make the canals shorter/thinner, most likely in an effort to avoid refits.  There is a definite ranking for shells as such...

EarSonics Velvet universal custom in ear monitor with three sound tuning options

There is a long history if you look at universals.  Sleek started it way back and other companies like Hippo also did so with filters/port sizes.  From an electrical standpoint, M-Fidelity (formerly Starkey Norway) is the first I can think of.  In CIEMs, Lime Ears is another with a switch...

Two Questions: - What IEMs have you heard that you like and dislike, and why? - How did you narrow your choice down to those three?   This may help your thought process.

EarSonics Velvet universal custom in ear monitor with three sound tuning options

The SM64 has a further presentation perspective that can sound more spacious in general, but the Velvet can project further as described in my comparison.     Thanks for reading!

    Perfect Seal Custom in-ear monitors

Isolation is very good despite the vent, closer to a non-vented silicone shell than an acrylic shell.

Multi-Custom In-Ear Monitor Review, Resource, Mfg List & Discussion (Check first post for review links & information)

In my experience with demos, the area where there is the biggest difference between a demo and the real thing is the bass, so I am not surprised by the bolded statement.  With that said, I do agree that the NT-6 Pro bass is very, very good.  I actually have them in my ears now as I am A/Bing...

Multi-Custom In-Ear Monitor Review, Resource, Mfg List & Discussion (Check first post for review links & information)

I haven't pitted the EM32 v the NT-6P yet, but will try to do so soon and report back here.  My initial thought from just listening to both is the NT6P has more deep bass while the EM32 has more overall bass, but the EM32 picks up the deep bass vs. some other EarSonics products.
