I used a Rega EAR with the HD580 and the combination was very good. You can find these used under $200.

I could care less what people think of the AKG K701's. The guy who started this thread- Noel Gallagher- is entitled to his opinion. Mine sound quite good and I only have 130 hours on them, so I'm hoping they continue to improve.

I bought a Grado HF-1 for RAWKING and an AKG K701 for everything else. You could substitute a Senn HD580/600/650 for the AKG and have the same result, but I like the AKG more.
